Second time I've started a thread like so. We won the first time.
Call it bleedin' obvious but it all depends on who is fit to play.

I haven't actually made a correct prediction this season, so i'm going to tempt fate and predict a loss for the first time.
Our home form is pretty terrible. We need a win, without one we will succumb to the inevitable as Plymouth get Dag and Red at home, and Plymouth themselves are threatening a return to form at this late stage. Not sure who will be fit, but I am sure the crowd will be there for the team just as they have every home game i've been to this season. The only trouble is that the team have so often not given the fans anything to back (Stevenage and Leyton Orient are particular examples)
So i'll go 3-1 Hartlepool, 7400 fans, weakened team failing miserably With Dunks looking the best player and bagging a goal. Common sense has to point to a loss for this one.
Feel free to dredge this up if we win, i'd be in a state of something between disbelief and absolute elation if we manage it.
The annoying thing is we'll go and beat Carlisle next, needing other's to drop points!

As I've said elsewhere current home form...........19th. Hartlepool current away form..............10th. Technically I suppose we are the underdogs.
But the team news is starting to make me feel a little more cheerful.

2-1 to Hartlepool and a crowd of just under 8,000. Accrington will get a draw but both Plymouth and Bristol Rovers will win, so we will be 5th in the table come 4.50pm

To all those pessimists, remember the well know saying: Events are not concluded until such time as the female with excessive body fat delivers a melodic sound via her vocal chords.

Hartlepool a whopping 8-1 for this. Small consolation should we perform as we so often have at home.

MacDonald and O'Dowda back, Lundstram and Roofe ready to go. I'm more confident now than I was on Wednesday morning despite our dreadful home form.
Don't care how you do it, boys, just score more than they do!

From the Hartlepool local paper...
"Craig Hignett will again be without Billy Paynter for tomorrow’s League Two match at promotion favourites Oxford United."
Promotion favourites eh?.....

A must-win game. Three points - by whatever means, fair, foul or frantic - and I'll be ecstatic.

Bristol Rovers 50/50? Think they're nailed on for second or third and between us and Accrington for the other place

Bristol Rovers 50/50? Think they're nailed on for second or third and between us and Accrington for the other place I don't think that thee is such a thing this time of the season as 'nailed on'. 2 out of 4. Plymouth are definitely not out of it. It depends on who can take the pressure and who maybe gets that little bit of luck.

I've been worried about this game all week, but as it has gone on, I'm beginning to wonder whether Hartlepool are getting a little over-confident themselves and may actually play into our hands....
Three games to go and we could lose all three and go up automatically, or win all three and have to settle for the playoffs - weird!

What's the crowd looking like? Quick look at the online tickety thing, but without counting the dots, looks like we have probably sold about 6,800. So with Pools bringing 200ish, a few more sales tonight, some few walk ups tomorrow, hopefully might get to 7,500.

Three games to go and we could lose all three and go up automatically, or win all three and have to settle for the playoffs - weird! Errrr....if we won all three, even by the odd goal, then Plymouth would have to have a +17 goal differential over their last three games to overtake us. I know they're playing Dagenham, but that still seems a little unlikely! But yeah - it's a three game season now. Three games against teams that will - in all likelihood - not have anything to play for against us. Sounds like we're getting closer to having a decent-strength team out. So basically it's time for the supporters to give it 90 minutes of non-stop singing & encouragement, and time for the players to step up. Are we going to remember the 2015-16 side as the best we've had for a couple of decades, or are they going to be remembered for bottling promotion? It's entirely in their hands, starting Saturday.

3 wins will do it. But we're at home and everyone is tense so I can't see us winning tomorrow. I hope I'm proved wrong but I fear I won't be.

So basically it's time for the supporters to give it 90 minutes of non-stop singing & encouragement, So you're saying we're fucked? Teh new expert behind me will p*ss and moan throughout a goal-less first half, blaming everybody except Dave Cudd for being useless, thus proving he knows more about football than anyone who goes regularly. We might just win. Imagine! In the silence of Kassam's mausoleum. It's time for big hearts and some of our players to step up. We can do this. COYY!
