Second playing third in League two has to be the match of the weekend. Two teams who have been there, or thereabouts, for the majority of the season now going toe-to-toe for the second time. Oxford WON the first by a narrow 1 - 0, scored by Liam Sercombe. Who will be our heroes tomorrow?
Oxford have been boosted, this weekend, by the return of Team Captain Jake Wright and key midfielder Jonny Lundstram from injury. It gives manager Michael Appleton a welcome headache (I'm sure) about who to choose in his starting XI.
Kemar Roofe, also made a welcome return on Tuesday night, against York, scoring the last goal in a 4-0 thrashing against a poor bottom-of-the-table team.
However, Jordan Bowery has hit a rich vein of goal-scoring form, with 6 goals in 6 games. Alongside of Bowery, Danny Hylton has also returned to his footballing best, scoring important goals and creating havoc on opposition defences, alike.
Chey Dunkley has also found his goal-scoring touch, and his aerial threat, in my opinion, will be needed on Saturday. He has been excellent since coming into the side, in Jake Wright's absence.
Whoever starts, I'm sure they will get the result we are all looking for.
Plymouth have stuttered, in the league of late, and they have injuries to two key players following their 1 - 0 defeat to Barnet. They should not be under-estimated. But I predict another Oxford WIN.
2-0

I'm also confident of a 2 goal win with Bowery getting them both. For all the stressing about our poor home form, we've still maintained our position in the top 3 for most of the season and the next few games should strengthen our hold on the auto places.

As arkn1ght say's game of the day tomorrow so channel 5 goals rush will probably show this game as the penultimate game on their show. Will be an interesting game Brunt is out with a serious injury, But have to wish him well and a speedy return, And Jordan Forster is out tomorrow, This does not mean Oxford have to be complacent as Plymouth still have some quality especially in Carey.
We Oxford are playing well away from home and there is no reason to think that will change, A good boost in the return of Jake and Lunny but would think they would start on the bench.
2 - 0 Oxford Bowery and Roofe

Oh, goodness; what a hard one to predict! I'll try, but don't hold me to account. Plymouth have two players missing, so it sounds good for us - but wait a minute, didn't Accrington have FIVE players out, yet still beat us with ten men? Oh dear. Second v third can usually throw up a surprise result. We've won our last six away, so that run will end soon (hopefully not here). A draw looks favourable this time out. Right now, I would grab that, thank you very much. But this is Oxford United - capable of surprise results, good or bad. If Roofe is on his best form, along with Bowery and Sercombe, O'Dowda, MacDonald, Hylton, Lunny and the back four....wait a minute, what am I going on about............if they play to their abilities, we'll p*ss this game. With that renewed confidence, I can safely predict.........a dog will run onto the pitch. Oh, and someone will let off a firework and a Plymouth fan will play a piano all through the match. Sercombe will get into a fight with MacDonald and fracture his clavicle. Some Plymouth fans will walk out of the ground after 34 minutes, because their team are playing bad. Plymouth 1 Oxford 2 (Roofe 2) Att: 12342 with 1232 Yellows fans. That just about does it for me.

We have 3 wins on the trot. I would love it if we beat Wilder's 10 in a row. But I'm not getting all Kevin Keegan about it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXpUdBlRZe83-0 Oxford. I've read that the Plymouth fans also are predicting defeat to us. I think they realise how big a club we actually are and it will be difficult for a small club like them to compete with us to be honest.

Once again my (retired) secretary has decided to have a dinner party starting half way through the match ( time difference you know). So I will miss the second half, bah!
But I forecast that in the first half we will score (Hylton) and a dog will let Amersham Dave out onto the pitch. Fun and laughter for all!
In the second half it will be very nervy (glad I'm missing that bit) until Roofe works his magic on 85 minutes. 2-0 for the Mighty Yellows.

Share the points, both set of fans jeer as the playoff chasing pack all lose.
Ourselves, Plymouth and Northampton march on arm in arm to League 1. Northampton limp a bit after falling over and gifting the title to us, but we still drag them along.
Honestly? The last two matches have been the most important affairs so I think anything away at Plymouth would be a bonus. A win – fabulous, a draw – take it, a defeat – so be it. Our season now won’t be defined by this result but by how we deal with the teams we are expected to beat like Hartlepool and Stevenage at home.
If we go out, be relaxed, let our good players and good football do the talking, we could obtain a very positive result indeed. Six from six off Plymouth would be very impressive.

Home Park has been a lucky ground for us. Was it two one last year, and the previous year we won two nil. Probably Gary Waddocks finest game in charge. Seem to remember Kitson excelling himself that day.
Have to go for two nil to us , with a large pastie from the van in the layby outside the ground. Reckon 1000 yellows to make the trip, it seems a long way but it's an easy run this time of the year.

It'll be very difficult for us, they'll be backed by a large home support. A point would be good.
Hopefully our away form will continue and if it does there's a chance we could perhaps nick a narrow win.

Setting off from Lincoln at 6.30am for the 600 mile round trip, via Tewkesbury to collect 3 more yellows en-route, hoping to arrive in Plymouth for mid-day. We have put ourselves in a great position with 3 wins last week and with the help of other teams around us dropping points we can really push on now and cement our place in the automatic promotion positions. . Plymouth will be no easy game and they will a wounded animal after their defeat at Barnet during the week however our with our away record and boosted by over 1000 travelling fans we will certainly give the home side something to think about and in the end I believe we will come out on top come 5 o'clock. . Plymouth Argyle - 1 OXFORD UNITED - 2 (Roofe 2) Att - 9989 (1263 very noisy yellows)

Obviously I hope this isn't the case, but I feel they'll win it 2-1or 3-1. I'd be happy with a draw, but a win would be fantastic.

There were only 13000 odd for the local derby against Exeter. The away end holds many more than we are going to take. If there was any chance of over subscription, they would have made it ticket only.

900 pre-sold with 800 pay on the day seats available.
I'd be very surprised if we have less than 1200 there tomorrow.

Will be going to Barnet and Crawley for sure and the rest of the home games with the possible exception of D&R on the Tuesday. (Mrs Manorlounger is having a hard time at work and we both suffer as a result) Wembley is a given (got the Monday off work to celebrate!) and for the Wycombe game we are booked into hotel and have reservations to eat with champers laid on! Got a mate coming down for that one. Bought his ticket already, one of the bonus' of being corporate!
