Right, this is our chance to get the home form back on track with one of my winning match day threads. If last week was a horrible set of results, this week's have been rather good. Time to keep that going.
No complacency with York tomorrow. Remember they need the points desperately too and we look likely to be without some key players. Another big chance for Ruffels and Dunkley and hopefully more chances for Hylton and Bowery to net a few.

No complacency indeed. York's away record is awful, so I wouldn't think they would try 'parking the bus' - they're obviously not very good at defending!
Nervy game. 1-0 Oxford.

Strange feel too tomorrow's game as it's a nervy one as Pete said despite York's poor away form, our home form has been no better but if we put the football on the ground and play the way we can (exact opposite of Stanley) then we should press them into mistakes and should be the better side tomorrow night.
I'm going 2-0 Oxford, Bowery with both.

2-1 hylton and Bowery. Hope its more straightforward but I would take any win tomorrow just to break our recent home form dip.

I can see this as nothing but us winning 3-0. Hopefully Waring getting one or, although I don't know how likely this is, Roberts coming on and grabbing a late one.

If Roofe is back in the squad as is being hinted at, then I imagine Roberts will be the one to drop out of it.
I'd take a scrappy 1-0.

If York do come to try to defend and waste time, then an early goal for us would be ideal. So I'll go for an early goal then cruise to a 4-0

The longer it goes goalless, the more nervy it'll get. Would like a clean sheet first and foremost...good for the defence. 1-0 Bowery, why not!

Another Tuesday evening game and the Manorloungers will, again, be working. Should get home in time to listen(??!!) to YP and annoy the neighbours with loud hurrahs and who are you's as we record a very welcome home win. York will try anything to not lose but we have the skill sets and player variety to turn them over. COYYs!!

Hopefully one of our constructive fans can ask the lads to make sure they win tomorrow. 3-0 will do, no need to be too greedy. Bowery hasn't scored at home yet so if someone could ask him to try it then that would be greatly appreciated.

Just been walking home from the chiropractors with my lad discussing tomorrow's match. He thinks 3-1 to us, me I'll settle for any win but would like a clean sheet kept by our defence.
It will be tough and maybe nervey but the other thing I want is a decent referee, some recently have been a bit dodgy, the others downright shite

I'll be very surprised if their fans -and players, are not a lot more nervous about playing us than we're of them. Even taking into consideration our poor home form, I think we'll have to be very very bad not to win, and I expect us to lay the ghost of recent home performances. We need to start on the front foot, with controlled aggression, and test their nerve. We know we have some very good players, high time they gave the Grenoble Rd home fans a decent and winning display.
A repeat score of our Wembley clash with them sounds about right.

This team has the ability to give someone a right good stuffing. I have no doubt it will be against York and we will win by seven clear goals.

We just have to get our home form sorted and we have to start from tomorrow.
We just need to win ahead of a very difficult trip to Plymouth on Saturday.
9 points in a week would also send a message out to our rivals that we mean business.

IIRC when we got the new pitch MApp said it'll be used for training on occasions. I wonder if they have been using it and if not whether doing so could help with our home form. Saying that I still think we'll tonk them 5-0.

I can see an all-round vast improvement in our home game, tomorrow. United 3 (Bowery hat trick) Yuck City 0 Att: 6,009 and 187 away fans. New light bulbs in the floodlights. The scoreboard will be in good working order. The corner flags will have, well, flags on them. The hot dog stand will serve hot, not under-cooked dogs. MAPP will take that frown off his face. That fan who sits in the SSU who shaved off his eyebrows, has grown them back and can now show a frown on his face. 'Sweet Caroline' will be turned down a bit, so you can hear yourself think. Someone will spoil the atmosphere in the South Stand Upper (class), by letting off a firework. The ref will ruin the game slightly, by booking nine players and sending off three. One of the linesmen will ask a police officer to escort a fan from the ground, for calling him a 'Wino', when in fact, all he meant was 'lino'. The officer (new to the job) will resign in disgust. A York supporter, having been a fan of my predictions for the last two months, will bring a dog into the ground and let it run across the pitch. Roofe will accidently kick the ball into the ref's face and knock his false teeth out. Kenny will walk out onto the pitch with a black eye, after fighting with Lundstram in the changing room. A York fan will bring a trombone into the ground and play all through the game. One of the floodlights will fail after 61 minutes. That just about does it for me.

I'd say this is more of a must win game than the other home games we've played recently, only because of the gulf in quality between the two squads. Our home games since Exeter have been against sides no lower than 5th in L2, and four against teams higher than us. This game gives us a great chance to put those behind us, play with confidence and win comfortably, setting us up for better home form for the remainder of the season.

One nil up after ten mins, two nil by half time, full time five nil. If there is the rain we have in Bristol, it will make for a slick pitch. We've had our little dip in form, now we are back to push on and secure second spot, possibly closing the gap on Northampton if they wobble.... COYY

I think york will come at us, which may play into our hands. York desperately need to win some games to get out of the bottom 2. Hartlepool could drop into the bottom 2 if York beat us, although hartlepool have 3 games in hand.
