I doubt they have hundreds sat in a warehouse waiting for clubs to decide they want them, more than likely made to order

Well GBT said they were expecting it to be delivered shortly.. That was at the start of August.
Maybe he could give us an update. Let's hope that's it's not another letdown.

The club really, really must stop over-promising and under-delivering off the pitch. We have had a summer where (despite actually doing some very good business as far as transfers go) we have been left with a bit of a flat feeling as far as the stand, season tickets, scoreboard, replica shirt availability, box catering etc have been concerned. Far better to keep your powder dry and just get on with it - how impressed would be be if we'd turned up to find a new fully working scoreboard.
As it was, there was joking last night about the invisible scoreboard being hidden by the invisible stand, and some cynicism that the planning for the stand had gone in so late that there would no time to get it passed and actually put up before the Swindon game and the club would then say it wouldn't be worth it and the project would be quietly shelved.

Is it the club that are under delivering or is it outside factors? The season tickets was a fault of both the club and ticket master. A mistake that DE admitted wasn't good enough on their part. Catering in the boxes is due to our saviour trying to screw more money out of the club which understand my, the club was not willing to spend. The issue of the stand is again being dragged along due yet again our saviour not willing to give a quick decision. The score board is delayed which could be down to the suppliers but the club could do themselves a favour and give an update. As for the shirts I really don't get the big deal. They are now available before the season starts, the club will buy a bulk and will order more when they run out.

I think you've hit the nail on the head when you say the club should "give an update" whenever possible. People will have differing opinions on whether the club should hold its cards closer it's chest on the various aspects mentioned, but the critical thing is to keep talking to the fans. The club has a number of established communications channels and more than adequate spokespeople so if a previous deadline is missed (or close to getting missed), then a quick message should go out to update. It's an old adage, but people generally can accept bad or disappointing news (to a point) as long as they feel informed and are given notice.

My honest opinion is something is up and it's a dream, but maybe, just maybe there could be lengthy negotiations taking place around the purchase of the ground. How much would the stand and scoreboard cost, the money from Roofe and O'Dowda? Could it be we have a reasonable amount for a loan and are negotiating to purchase the stadium? Its a very slight possibility, but we can dream. Sent from my XIAOMI NOTE PRO using telepathy

They didn't actually give a date on the scoreboard anyway did they? Just said they had placed an order for a new one? Is that over promising ?

I think the old saying of under promise, over deliver is something the club might like to try.

It's Mr Box Turnbull giving all the spin again and failing to deliver

Doesn't our MD come from the Charlie Methven PR machine? Isn't PR all about talk rather than delivery? May be it's taking time to learn that actions speak louder than words. GBT should underplay progress and then surprise us all with his achievements. Now that would be real PR.

GBT should underplay progress and then surprise us all with his achievements. Now that would be real PR. For the sake of fairness GBT has to try and work with Firoka which must be a huge challenge. It's blatantly obvious that this new scoreboard is linked to the problems with the planned temporary stand and no doubt other stadium issues. I'm sympathetic - are Firoka trying to kill us?

Does this really constitute spin or some great PR fiasco? Or is it just that a scoreboard someone asked about that the club said they were replacing with a nice new one is turning up late. Damn those devious bastards for letting us down. How will we ever remember the score at a game we are at now?

How is kassam's effecting a scoreboard that we have ordered turning up late ?

Because it will be built onhis ground andwill improve the stadium so he wants to see more money.

Because it will be built onhis ground andwill improve the stadium so he wants to see more money. Not so sure about this. We are paying for it and as you say, it improves the ground, so where is his objection? kassam has never been mentioned as an issue in the process by the club and they normally let it be known if he is.

We didn't have to pay him more to relay his pitch, or decorate the tunnel what's the difference?

We all know he's difficult and looks after his interests but some of the stuff he's getting blamed for lately is going a bit far, I'm fairly sure it's also not his fault the shirts turned up late as he wanted to check the designs, and the Wimbledon game was moved to accommodate his flight times from Monaco 😃

If the scoreboard is going at the fence end surely it is a case of constructing the new stand and related stuff (portaloos, turnstiles etc) before we install the scoreboard.
