And if Suarez turns up! He can vanish even when on the pitch. But if he decides to play then he can be brilliant, at least against Dutch defences. At the World CUp he came up against a better class of defender and vanished without trace.

Are Liverpool just holding off selling torres until the suarez deal is done and dusted?

At the World CUp he came up against a better class of defender and vanished without trace. Surely that is a great attribute for a centre forward, now you have told me he has the ability to become invisible I might bung a tenner on him to be top scorer this season. Berbatov is winning it at the moment and he only seems invisible in some games.

Even if Torres stays and they sign Ronaldo to play in a three with them I wouldn't trust Liverpool to turn it on.
They are a club whom the phrase 'False dawn' was invented for.
Will be an also ran for the next ten years at least.

It's a good signing, about the same price as Bent but arguably a better player as long as he adjusts to the English game
I think they need a big centre half as well

Not sure where you form that from because he had an impressive World Cup! 3 goals in 6 and a great partnership with Forlan. That's not from a forum, it's from watching him, frequently live, over the last three years. I live in Holland. As I said he can be brilliant, one of the best forwards I've ever seen, but does tend to go missing occasionally. But even then I'd have him in my team.

Darren Bent is a better player , for premier league reasons... Suarez may turn out to be a better player though Suarez got to the semi finals of the world cup and scored 3 goals. Bent can't even break into the squad of one of, if not the poorest England squad ever.

Darren Bent is a better player , for premier league reasons... Can't really make a comment like that when Suarez has never played in the Premiership before.. His record for his country is better than Darren Bent's.

It shows the way that transfers like that of ronaldo have grotesquely distended the transfer market. Liverpool paid as much for torres as they are paying for suarez and FT, on form, is arguably a better player.

Haven't realy followed Suarez's progress at ajax, but basing it purely on his world cup performance's he is a great talent. Him and forlan were a lethal partnership together.

Even on current form, Torres and Suarez is a fearsome prospect up front. Probably the best in the league (although I'll have to wait to see him first).

Torres will go so the question is, who can you sign by Monday night who will work with Suarez? Suarez was signed due to his perfect compatability with Torres - the reason Liverpool didn't sign Bent. £50 million buys you an awful lot of player but hard to act fast. Lukaku is gettable but assume Liverpool would want a more proven player.

Really? surely Liverpool knew Torres was off and Suarez was signed as his replacement? I'm amazed he went to Liverpool to be honest. Great player. Everyone remembers him in the world cup for his handball, but before that he was brilliant.

No Suarez was definitely signed to partner Torres.
Liverpool apparently hoping to sign Ashley Young and also get Charlie Adam today too.
