Who knows? Arrogance isn't a bad thing in a striker. Attitude is crucial though. Hopefully he re-pays us for taking the gamble.

I think this will be a good signing, although I'm basing that on not a lot more than his goal scoring record this season. I think he'll be coming to us full of confidence and with something to prove. I like it when players have something to prove. I wrote the same thing on here when Hylton signed (a bit of a told you so moment here). In fact my exact words were: "he's come here with something to prove really. At 25 I'm sure he'll be eager to get his career back on track'. The same applies to Campbell in my eyes. I'm sure he'll be aware that he needs to prove himself or else this could be his last chance to make it as a pro footballer.
As Hylton has proved, playing with desire can lead to goals and becoming a a fans favourite, so I just hope he applies himself properly because he obviously has something about him.
I must admit, I hope this doesn't mean we aren't going to be signing Hoban. For some reason I was very excited about signing him, especially given the numerous positive reviews from people that have seen him play. But tbh, I just can't see us having Hylton, Hoskins, Campbell, Hoban and Roberts (assuming we don't extend Barnett's loan) all on the books at the same time. The only way I could see this happening is if Roberts was loaned out, but that is very unlikely given his recent form, and would undoubtedly be an unpopular decision with the fans. I guess the other option is that we might not extend Howard's contract which may mean a slightly deeper role for Hylton or Hoskins perhaps?
Either way, welcome John (if you actually have signed). I hope you continue your scoring rate here in League 2!

Looks quite good did someone say Peter Leven plays for Jarrow roofing because Campbell's 5th was Levenesque.

As he put on his Facebook, he's having a medical on Monday. Yes but there is also 3 days before then. I'm sure if a club came in with a better offer tomorrow or over the weekend then he would seriously consider it. The outlet reporting it in the North East has taken his Facebook post to mean that the deal is done. It would seem that nothing is actually final apart from the fact he is due in Oxford on Monday for a medical and to put pen to paper. The fact that has become public knowledge might prompt the other interested clubs to step up their efforts. Hopefully, we will hear a finalised deal announced on Monday.

It is a huge step up from the level he is playing at, but I think if you are a goalscorer you are a goalscorer. We'd be a bit top heavy if he came in though, Hylton NEEDS to start up top, top scorer in he league - don't play him out of position. Roberts is undropable at the moment, Barnett hasn't done enough to force his way into the team as it stands, but I think he is a good option off the bench. I would of liked to of seen him for the last 10 minutes at York, gives us the edge at set pieces, hold it up front to close a game out etc.

Gob smacked!
All 5 of his goals were great finishing. Even the penalty. I can see why a lot of clubs are looking at him

Now THAT is some impressive goalscoring! Liked his calm but determined approach, knew each time where he wanted to the ball and delivered. Pass your medical son!

Have to say that there is some impressive finishing there, although some questions over the quality of the opposition defending. He'll be comfortable shooting toward the West Stand too.

24 goals in 19 games is absolute madness. And watching videos of him I'm wondering why he's still playing at that level?! Glad we're taking a punt on him.

Apparently we haven't signed him (Yet) Haven't you read this? Campbell will have a medical on Monday before joining Oxford on loan until January, with an undisclosed fee agreed for a permanent move once the transfer window reopens.

Looks an interesting prospect. It's worth noting how poor the defending is in that video, though. It will be a big step up to Division 2 where he won't be given that much time and space. Look forward to seeing him at Oxford. Hopefully.
