I think all fans are allowed an opinion, and football chairmen are the last people who should be exempt from questions. Of course. Although this has been a promotion season, with some great cup runs, add to that the fact we've been playing the best football since I've been old enough to watch us. Off the pitch has seen probably an even greater improvement over the last two seasons than on it and yet it doesn't seem like enough for some people. If you're not content with how things are being run now, when will you be? Fair comment, and I agree with you, it's been great The club and the fans are as tight now as at any point that I can remember.

I'd rather the chairman spent the money on a scoreboard than a temp stand which will be empty most of the time. I'd rather people didn't try and tell our chairman how to spend HIS money, and just be grateful that he's willing to invest in the club at all. I think all fans are allowed an opinion, and football chairmen are the last people who should be exempt from questions.

In that position I'd have Barkley or Ali over Rooney any day of the week. What, singing the anthem?

It means that instead of 92 professional football clubs there would be 100. There are already more than 92 pro clubs. The Conference isn't all part time.

It wasn't Stein, it was Richard Hill who was part of the Beardsley deal. I thought Hill and Bardsley joined together from Watford? When we sold Bardsley to QPR, Stein came to us as part of the deal. Ah right, I may have misread your post originally...

Agreed. Surprised he is short of a few bob if that is the case as he played Premier League football for 5/6 years and granted, they were not on the riches of now, the PL in 1995 etc was still a good money spinner. When we signed him it was a club record of £265,000. I would guess - we have only ever paid more than that for a player a couple of times since? Windass? He was sold for 500,000 - again, I would guess we have only received a fee for a player bigger than that about 6 or 7 times. Aldridge, Houghton, Saunders, Joey, Magilton - what did Chrissy Allen go to Forest for? Elliot, Windass? We got Mark Stein as part of that deal, I can remember thinking it was a good deal for us but Stein flattered to deceive until he joined Stoke and was brilliant! I'm sure we got another player as part of the deal but can't remember who it was? It wasn't Stein, it was Richard Hill who was part of the Beardsley deal.

This is the best thread on this website. Pies bring everyone together Pies? That's war. Pasty or face being slain as a heretic.

You really get the feeling everyone on Northampton is misunderstanding the phrase "best footballing team". And I am struggling to understand why it bothers them so much when they have some silverware to parade around...

As for the ground, at least I can do the 4 sides jibe now and here it is -> how many sides? Well, you could raise that old chestnut, if you wanted to. But you'd be wrong of course. Our ground has four sides. If it had three sides, as I assume you're implying, it would be a triangle, which it isn't. How many times do I have to explain this exact point to the Swindon fan at work anyway, The Manor had seven stands, what is the point he is trying to make exactly?

Sat half the world away, trying to decide on either morning at the pool in a Wi-Fi zone and keep up with the game, or head to the beach for 4 hours and try to forget it is happening and get the result later. Bottle of champagne in the fridge, hope it's consumed in celebration later. COYY.

The BBC are a joke. Their attitude towards sport and music coverage is bordering on total disregard in my view. You do get the occasional music gem on the red button if you keep your eyes open, the maida vale performances can be good, Foals did a great set a few months back.

It's not a unique occurrence for me either, I missed the Peterborough promotion game in the 90s as well due to a wedding.

I am in Antigua, forum moderation work is quite lucrative these days as you can tell with all 3 of us on our travels I will be by the pool in the Wi-Fi zone Saturday, keeping up to date via the Forum.

You wouldn't get a 404 after 50% install, that would have occurred when initially trying to download the install package from the internet. I am thinking that there is a chance this message may be a fake.

Use Xbox 1 on TV 2, Xbox 2 on TV 1, and share profiles across both machines. Good in theory, but xbox 1 is a 4gb slim and xbox 2 is a 250gb machine. The 250gb is mine and the 4gb slim is my daughters. Ah that complicates it... external hard drive for the 4 gig machine? Both xboxes set to the same output resolution?

Considering you will do well to get a pint for under a fiver in Thame, they will most likely go through to Ayleshole.

2 if Man Utd beat Spurs. It's an odd position for me wanting Man Utd to win a game.

Can I ask for a bit of calm on this thread please, getting a bit close to the edge on some posts. You wouldn't want me putting down my ale, strapping on the sandals and wading in with the ban stick...

I wonder how many different people have seen games at-home this season. Threads like this seem to fall into the mistake of thinking it is the same 6000 or so every week where I would guess there will be a good 12,000 or more who have taken in a game or two.
