Ferdinand still captain but is never fit so it will go to Gerrard (if he is fit).
Think their is some sort of law that lampard has to play for England, either that or managers are to scared of the slaughtering they will get from his family the Rednaps in the press.
Wales have got a youngster called Gareth Bale who is not to shabby.

Oh my.
Johnson cannot make the squad. We need someone who is a good defender and seeing as Kelly is actually more of a CB with pace I fancy a good bout.
Hopefully Parker (if picked) is on task to help out with defensive cover for the lad.

We need a manager who can say 'Frank. You're fat, you're shit, you're dropped'. We need a manager with some balls who has a proper gameplan, Crapello is just a muppet with no ideas.

I worry about the defence. Not only that there are problems with Johnson but also that the "first choice" pairing of Ferdinand and Terry never play together as one or other frequently is injured.
Should we be looking at a new CB pairing?

The decision to make Ferdinand captain is looking a mistake with him never being fit for games. Been a great player for England but maybe its time for him to retire from Internationals if hs body cant take it anymore.
Johnson plays because of lack of alternatives at rb but someone better must be out there. Hes not even first choice rb at Liverpool anymore.

And unless I'm much mistaken, first choice right back at liverpool is also english. Something there just seems very amiss.

His body can't even take the regular season, how many apps has he made for Man U this term? The decision to make him captain seemed ridiculous to me but I guess he's about the only player of sufficient exoperience who isn't tainted.

The England captaincy has been devalued so much in recent years that I am suprised anyone wants it. It changed hands four times against Denmark.

England in general have become so devalued I'm surprised anyone want to play for them. You have to have pride in the jersey and all but its not like the current crop have done much to instil that pride in the younger generation. It has seemed most of the time that they have gone out of a tournament without even trying their hardest which has to reduce the worth of the shirt.

Personally I would have given anything just to play ten minutes for England at Wembley even if it was just a friendly. Its a shame if it no longer means that much to current players to play for their country, surely it has to be a prouder moment than to play for souless multi-national corperations like man u and arsenal. Suppose its all sadly about money nowadays.

If a player has all the money, fame, women, cars, everything he could ever want, playing for England just isn't glamerous....

Not going to be able to look back in old age and think about a car you had when you were younger or how you got in some posh resteraunt with the same sense of pride as if you achieved something playing for your country. Look at the 1990 boys, they didnt even win it but they got the whole country behind them and made everyone proud. The 66 lot will always remain legends in this country, compare that with some of the modrern players who dont seem to care as much, their fame will be much shorter lived.
