Disappointed with our shooting today, and heading for that matter. Either way off target or too soft and straight at the keeper. I like the fact that everyone is contributing goals but we would easily have won that with a bit more quality in front of goal. Now off to Fleetwood How did we score 3 then ๐ The three times we got it right. Doesn't mean we couldn't have scored a lot more.

Canice was responsible for the 1st and 3rd he is learning The third is on Nelson for me, as our captain at 3-2 up with 10 minutes to go to give away possession where and when he did is unforgivable Completely agree - Nelson clearly at fault (again). He is making some absolute howlers this season. Heโs a good player but the errors are racking up. I go back to Blackpool where he was rag-dolled by Kyle Vassell and looked very wobbly. Thought Canice was at fault too for the first goal - he could barely walk with ten minutes to play and could have been subbed. Enjoyed the game just disappointed we sat too deep in the second half and invited trouble. The team play some great stuff but there is a naivety about us defensively. Even Richardinho was making uncharacteristic errors today. Weโve probably dropped four points at home but the entertainment factor has been high this week.

I know, thought generally we were better today though, tested the keeper with a few, scored 3. Rothwell probably with the best missed chance. Itโs the ones where we try having a pop from 20/30 yards we need to work on, especially when the is an option to carry on forward

He had a good amount of space and nobody marking him and it goes wide of the post. He should be scoring them as a big defender in the box if you get given space you should be punishing the opposition.

The only one that was strange today was the first one where Payne played it to the edge of the box. Looked like everyone froze and didn't know if they should shoot.

Cracking game today shame we let them back into it just before half time.
Our 2nd goal was real quality that move started with Nelson on our penalty spot.
Lay off carroll sure he had his moments but richardinho got in a mess for the 1st and causually let a very good cross over again.

RCYellowRC, oxfordboy, oufcyellow, I did criticise Canice for the 1st and 3rd and I do agree Nelson could have helped for their third in defending but I felt they knew Canice was young and still learning and Rotherham exploited this. Canice will be a very good player another year or so and he will be knocking on the RBโs door saying thatโs my position and when we get it You ainโt getting It back. Just felt today he was exposed because of his youth and learning and Maybe Pep should have shaken things in th 2nd half. Canice mustnโt let any criticism he hears or reads affect his play because he could have scored near the end. I have no doubt he will be a cracking player

Not quite sure how replacing ribiero for Carroll is the reason we conceded three today. If charlton's strikers had got there shooting boots on Tuesday we could have been three down in the first ten minutes. He also got skinned a number of times at brizzle.

Was Tiendalli fit or just named for The bench because we f he was fit Maybe he could have come on for young Canice when we were 3-2 up with the risk of conceding a 3rd, oh what a good life it is t to be a manager

The gap between Nelson and Carroll for the 3rd is far to big, Canice also slows down at the start of his run back which allows the man to get past as soon as there player gets the ball, can only assume that he was expecting his man to cut in. Either way he'll learn from this and should become a better player from these mistakes. The fact he looses Mousinho so easily is a rare mistake from Mousinho but one that he should do better with. He doesn't actually check the runners space until the ball is put across the box, in that time the man had curved his run while Mousinho kept running straight meaning the job was to easy for the scorer. Hopefully we can rectify these mistakes before Fleetwood

I missed today so cannot comment with authority about today - but....
Agree 100 per cent - we could have been 3 down against Charlton in 20 mins and the fact they missed doesn't mean we blame the young lad coming in when chances are taken.
He could have been at fault - repeat I was not there - but, and this is where it gets a personal decision....I have no problem with us playing a kid who has massive talent and will make a mistake versus someone on loan etc (ie Edwards last year). I actually actively want it. In 3 year years I hope he has played 60 games and is in first team as we push the championship playoffs....

Reading the Charlton forum a couple of contributors thought our full backs were awful. Always interesting to read the opposition view

Both teams deserve a lot of credit for putting on such a good show in awkward conditions.
Pro footballers are becoming bigger and more athletic every season and once again we faced a team of hammer throwers .
And itโs this physicality that got them their point. Their young striker was a handful.
The way we pop it around is delightful and Iโm very pleased with the way the team is progressing. We are a match for anyone in L1.
Atmosphere good today as well.
Ruffels development as a player is heartwarming. What a lovely goal that was.

it's weird how many goals we seem to ship when ribeiro isn't playing. in other news, leyton orient just lost at home to macclesfield Yes it is weird but its just co-incidental...
If Ribs was that good to make a difference, he wouldn't be playing for us.
Nelson needs to get back to doing the simple things well as does Ric.
Our defence has proven over many games this season that they are stronger with Ribeiro in the back four. No reflection on Carrol at all, he'll become an excellent centre mid. Our record of goals conceded without Ribs is poor. Must be circa 2/3 goals per game with the exception of that excellent win over a very poor Wimbledon side. Still a point helps. Just feel they were there for the taking in the first half. We could have scored 6. On now to Fleetwood, always a tough fixture away. Hope the squad strengthens for ths match. UP THE YELLOWS.

Thoroughly enjoyed that match. So nice to be enjoying consistently good performances home and away. Yes we should have won, but another way to look at it is we went a goal down against a decent side and came back very strongly.

I think the third goal from them is just a good goal to be honest. The defenders are all too far away from the man but the through ball and cross were really good. Certainly not a howler. The first was though, no defensive header should end up there. Overall happy with the way things are developing.

There does not have to be a mistake for every goal, this was a super pass cross and finish. Their 3rd goal was down to excellent play and does not need a scapegoat

Well that was a fun game characterised by poor mistakes. The first goal was a poor header out by Carrol but who reacted first not Mosh or Ruffels and the defending from Ricardiniho was dodgy too. Jack Paynes First goal was good and one of the times that we didnt take additional needless touches and drove the ball forward. Ruffels and Nelsons goals were also good even if Rotherham should have dealt better with Ruffels effort. Then there was legos poor poor penalty which I called as a miss before he hit it. Why do we have someone with such a poor scoring record yesterday look at who scored penalties from the top english divisions 80%+ were strikers the rest midfielder who regularly score. The penalty technique was pretty poor (aim a foot or two away from the keeper) but our choice of player was even worse and made worse by the fact that the rest of the footballing world (in england at least) seems to have already worked it out. Then there was West thomas's touch from that through ball which was just aweful (it's margins like that which cost us theses games). But my biggest concern is defense especially centrally It is no surprise wigan are near the top (and Chey Dunkely doing so well there) because we look weaker without him in defense. Not just as an attacking sense at corners (Note he scored twice yesterday) but defensively simple through balls between Nelson and Moush undid us time again. Look at their second goal nelson and lego jump at each other from a long throw both miss the headder and then Moush has the reactions of my grandma to get to the ball first and is easily beaten. For the third Nelson criminally gives the ball away in midfield Cannice is slow getting back but Moush looses his player so easilly and where in the heck was the left back? For me Dunks was criticised for his inability to play the ball but Nelson either gave the ball away too much or played the ball negatively (i.e to someone in a worse position like eastwood or Lego who seems to offer himself facing the wrong way to the oppositions goal). So we haven't replaced Dunks adequately and it is no surprise the the left central defender seems to be causing the issues again this season.
So overall a decent game frustrated by a team that seemed to want to play good football but didnt focus on the win. Yes give me tappy tappy nice football but not at the expense of doing the simple things like defending properly. Are arsenal fans happier with their 14 years of winning basically nothing whilst playing tappy tappy? For me an Atkins 1-0 win would be welcome.

Very unfair on Mousinho, who I think looks very assured in the central position next to Nelson. I think it was Nelson who had the (rare) off day yesterday, but don't forget they were playing against the League top scorer, who was a big lump of a bloke and Rotherham played pretty much everything in the air to him, or to the two huge centre halves who came up for every dead ball. Also it was very windy out there, which I think played into Rotherham's hands rather than ours.
I love Ricardinho, but think he overplayed it a couple of times yesterday and got caught. It was a bit different out there yesterday compared to playing on Copacabana beach!

Sometimes his positioning lets him down, where as Williamson has great positioning but a serious lack of pace. Raglan is good at both, maybe not as confident bringing the ball out at feet, but him and Nelson at the end of the season looked a very good pairing complimenting each other well. As for martin ๐ค. Well heโs quite tall

Some really good comments, let's not forget our previous two games and the results, although I would have to say I prefer Mousinho to Dunkley, far more confident on the ball. Dunks is rough diamond, although Wigan seem to be getting the best out of him, it'll be really interesting come December when we play them.

One of those watershed games for me where reality bites and you get brought back to earth.
Not quite as good as we thought we were.
But that's all down to the raised expectations of the previous 3-4 games.
I always said from Bradford to Walsall the truth would be somewhere in the middle.
We are growing nicely under Pep, who is very impressive. I expect us to finish eighth or ninth. That would be a really good effort cosnidering the upheaval.
