Back on thread making duty and hopefully back to winning ways, although I can't grumble about an unbeaten run. Was a great game last year, admittedly they weren't in the best shape (conceding to Taylor and Hemmings in the same game), but they seem to be in good nick this season so should be another good 'un. Assuming all are fit: Eastwood Riberio Nelson Mous Ricardinho Ruffels Ledson Henry Payne Rothwell Thomas I'll go for another 3-2, goals from Wes, Mous + Rothwell. Everyone a bit “leggy” and tired. Disappointing 1-1 in a game adversely affected by the high wind.

Two wind assisted 'screamers' contribute to a 3-1 win for the Yellows, but only after a testing first 45 minutes playing into the gale force wind coming from the fence end.

Can see there being a change or two due to tiredness. Rothwell will likely come back in and maybe even Hall, possibly in place of Henry who has played an awful lot of minutes recently while working very hard.
I expect a very tough game dominated by the weather. Could go either way on that alone. If we at least pick up a result and end the block with 11 points that would be a great return but a win to end with 13 would be phenomenal. And with Rotherham being one of the teams above us it would lay down a proper marker.
I'm going to go for 2-1 and a thoroughly terrible game with some insanely nervy, borderline comical moments as the wind runs riot.

Rotherham have only won 2 of there 7 away games this season, we've been decent at home only losing once. Think we'll see a few changes for this game. Eastwood Ribiero Nelson Mousinho Carroll Ledson Ruffels Hall Mowatt Rothwell Thomas
3-1 Oxford Mowatt, Ledson, Thomas
We have the advantage of playing against the wind every home game so shouldn't take too long to adapt to tomorrow, whereas it should be different for Rotherham.

Quite I'm not Henry's biggest fan in the past and I'm keen to blood the new talent but I cant see any more than one change and I wouldn't make any.

I would just put Rothwell back in for Mowatt, and have Hall on the bench too.

Not expecting to see much in the way of accurate passing as the weather forecast now predicts rain as well as 40 mph winds! But happy to be able to get to our first match this month, Rotherham seem to be in a bit of disarray after being beaten midweek so predicting a 3-1 win.

The weather, in particular the wind, will be awful so we can forget about the pretty stuff and hopefully scrap and grind out a win tomorrow.

It will be a great shame if all the plans for military day end up gone with the wind but, on the pitch, I can see our boys coming good again and putting the Rothers to the sword.
( I was really looking forward to seeing that helicopter fly by again!)

Has anyone actually read that? What an awful piece. Forgetting about last season in the FA cup altogether, a short commentary of the youtube highlights of tuesdays games & some stats about Wes Thomas without saying why he's the 'One to watch' "Thomas has scored five goals so far this season, with three on his right foot and two on his right foot. He has scored these goals within 651 minutes of football this season."

I've got mixed feelings about this. My instinct, which seems mostly wrong, is we are playing good football even at home and are quite capable of beating them.
I was going to go for a draw, but in gingerox we trust so 2-1 with Nelson and Thomas scoring in either half.

Jeez! The weather forecast is not good. High wind (must have been that curry last night) and rain for the second half. Keep the ball on the ground today.

It’s military day. Let’s hope that the army’s secret weapon, Caesar the super sniffer dog is employed again to dazzle us with his unique skills. As for the game, a win would be brilliant. 2-1 to us.
