There have been a couple of small updates with Ivo's injury in recent programmes. He has the biggest quad muscles in the squad and is ahead of schedule already and working hard to get back early. Sounds good. Not sure what quad muscles are but having big ones can't be a bad thing.. can it..? I'll ask the missus...

However the bigger they are the slower you are as pace is generated from the hamstrings.Examples of big quads - Akinfenwa and Duberry - not particularly mobile but very strong and with their experience they can gain a yard by reading the game and are rarely injured. Explosive pace players are likely to suffer hamstring injuries. Ivo damaged his knee but if he has massive quads I doubt he's quick but will watch with interest when he returns. The only OUFC player I can recall having big quads AND pace was Yemi - but as a striker he couldn't hit a barn door...

Paul Powell....massive quads and even bigger calf muscles iirc - he was a bit rapid and also a bit good too (remember when Newcastle were sniffing around?)

Powell was up there with Joey with his ability to run with the ball at pace and change direction. I remember him turn defenders inside out with his zigzagging runs.
As much as I rate Rico, Powell at his best would be a great player at left back in this current team.

He was almost unplayable at times that year, and would have gone on to play at a much higher level. Then he did his cruciate in 2000, and was never the same player again.

Raglan is nigh on back on the training pitch, so would imagine he is getting close to being around the match day squad full time. Mehmeti is making good progress and could be back on the training pitch next week. Long is a way off after another op, but is feeling better. Gino was almost ready to return but had some tightness in his muscle but is broadly on target.
So all in, the injured players mentioned are getting nearer to the match day squad.

Having just looked up Ivo, there are a bunch of articles in Swedish from a month or two back and he seems to be making good progress. Looks like he is frustrated that such an innocuous challenge caused so much damage

As if the injury situation could get any worse. Only positive is Napa will be around the first team more regularly. Presumably only one recognized winger against Plymouth in Henry.

Agree it seems like all our quick players are either, injured currently or have to be wrapped in cotton wool, because they are walking injuries. Hall, Gino, Thomas, Obika and Napa to be fair are the only quick players in our team 4 of these 5 are injury prone. This means counter attacking is something we'll probably struggle with for a while

That solves who plays RW then.
Henry RW Rothwell LW Ledson & Ruffels CM
Good to see Napa around the first team after a lively pre-season.

Losing Nelson and now Hall within the space of a week is a huge blow.
Nelson is our best defender and Hall is one of the few with any pace and trickery to beat a player.
I'm seriously worried now, the sooner we get to 50 plus points the better.
This is where Pep earns his corn.

Oh dear, gutting for Robbie, and for us, one of the very few in this squad capable of creating something on a semi regular basis
Hopefully he comes back before the end of the season but his inability to stay injury free is worrying, considering he's supposed to be a pretty big earner i'm not sure i'd bring him back next season
