According to Facebook & Twitter we're after Dexter Blackstock! There's absolutely no chance we'll go anywhere near him, thank the lord.

Really? So we paid £400K and the worst case scenario is that we have to pay then £500K (and it could be less than that). So we make what £1M plus profit in a season? Being an Oxford fan and hearing what £1M is 'not much', confuses me somewhat! It's not that if it's 10% as the OM and MAPP have said then not To bad but 2.5 million with add on's was being quoted and if we were to get 1.5 million profit after sell ons have been taken out then that's 3 quality signings. But I would like to know if that to 2 or 2.5 I believe DE knocked back 2 million so why knows. Regardless it is a very good profit in a year. I am suspect that the payment to Motherwell might not be straight forwards (as has been suggested- MAPP/DE suggesting that for a deal to be done they needed an innovating solution) Then there is the 10%/25% of the profit or the actual value. We will probably never know (as there is so much dispute on social media etc over what is being paid).

Darryl is going to spend money by the sound of it.

From the announcement on Boro's website:
"Due to a confidentially clause, we are unable to confirm the transfer fee"
Others may read it differently, but from that I took that we had asked for the clause to be added in. Maybe so as not to let clubs of those we are interested in push their prices up even more.
I do wish they would get rid of undisclosed fees though, no fun at all.

"The challenge now is to use the extra funds wisely in this and subsequent windows. We have an excellent recruitment team and I am confident that Pep and the team will achieve this objective. Darryl is going to spend money by the sound of it. Well, we are now 4 million up from the summer transfer dealings. And that after making a profit last year. Surely but surely now is the time to make a proper push for promotion. No need or point to wait until January. The season might be gone by then. And it's a mega tough window anyway. Three 300k signings today would leave a huge profit but would show serious intent. A striker, a wide man and a young progressive centre back. The club has known that Johnson is leaving for weeks, so no excuses for not having the playets lined up. This is the moment when we find out if the much-touted championship ambition is there. I'm confident it is.

I reckon a loan from a higher club for a young wide man and that'll be it. Possibly a young centre back too, though not essential.

Just some hungry talent who are itching to get first team experience. And then splash a bit of the transfer money on a name to give us added optimism for a promotion push.

I reckon a loan from a higher club for a young wide man and that'll be it. Possibly a young centre back too, though not essential. If that is that then it'll be midtable for us. And I don't understand why. This is a rare opportunity to take an already decent squad and use a small proportion of the incomings to maximise our chances. There's being a 'trading' club and then there's being a straight up selling club. I'm confident that we will do better than a measly loan signing.

We all know where the squad is paper thin - I think that the next few hours are going to tell us quite a lot about Eales' future intentions.
