Did you forget how bad the Cheltenham game was? Did you forget we won comfortably at oldham, a league one side, 3 days before that cheltenham game? Maybe the game on Tuesday was a blip maybe it wasn't but to write us off as play off contenders when we have won 1/1 is laughable. Preston beat Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and lost to Accrington Tuesday. I've not been in the Preston forum but I doubt that they are saying they have no reason to play this season and if they can't be Accrington what's the he point. Perhaps give these new players and the management some time to get this right and maybe see where we are in 10/15 games time. This This and This. Give it ten matches people.

Sing his name to the tune of the Gino Ginelli advert from the early nineties. My thoughts exactly.

I don't think anybody said this will be an easy season if anything it's been the opposite. It was a tough pre season with a new manager and a lot of new players and players leaving. Last season was a real battle and we came out pretty well and this season will be a harder battle but their is no reason we can't be as good again. And while we are on the guys thread I'd like to welcome the lad to the club and hope he does well.

This This and This. Give it ten matches people. We will see wont we,but there are plenty of signs to suggest things aren't going to be so easy as some think. Who has said it is going to be easy? Show me? If Mapp had stayed, I'd have said we'd get 5th or 6th at best, and in the play offs. There are big clubs in our league, and it is only our second season back. Anyone with an ounce of realism (there is a difference between realism and hope in my book), would surely think that Mapp left pretty late into the summer in terms of getting a good replacement, and we lost several key players because of this. So, although I want Oxford to go up, I think because of the wholesale changes, we'll do well to match where we ended last season. But for now, let's just see where things are in 10/12 matches - and without compromise or change, get behind the team 100%, from the beginning to the end of every match. UNITED WE STAND.

We haven't got Kelleher covering as he is on loan at Solihull until January. Can he return and play for us and then go back or is a permanent loan with no recall? That would only be with a youth loan iirc and I believe this is a normal long term loan so it would be no recall.

This is weird. I was in Trenčín 3 days ago and took a photo of their ground from the castle. I was intrigued by their weirdly impressive floodlights.
Can I also point out that they only have 1 stand and 3 fence ends. Maybe our clubs need to merge.
I would share the photo but can't seem to paste it in.

I can't see any of Henry, Johnson, Van Kessel or Payne being happy coming off the bench Unless Van Kessel proves he can play as a lone striker we are gonna see one of them leave by January The point is they won't always be on the bench and I'm sure they understand what it is to be part of a squad..at least I hope so

Yes interesting castle..the glam side of Cz/Slovak footy one stand grounds...just don't drive down a no entry area like I did and get an on the spot fine!

I think he will transfer list Hall, Hemmings, Martin and maybe even let Rothwell go, or there are the first four names on a super strong bench. Kelleher will be another Giles and never play. Think he has to start with Xemi but everyone who gets 5-10 games needs to be able to show consistency and that they are too good for L1 and can play at Championship level or I see Pep being pretty ruthless and getting rid, and hopefully getting a fee. Hard to know his ideal starting 11 though as suspect some are nowhere near match fit.

Great goal on Tuesday but I'd forgotten he was playing until that point and to be honest, thereafter. He looks like the most likely bench warmer to me while he gets to grips with the pace and physicality of the league.

Why so few games since his big money move in 2016?? Doesn't mention any injury, even when loaned out he only played 3 in 6 months Basically he was a failed signing who got binned out quickly and who they now want to shift off the wage bill and ideally get some money back for. But being a failure at slavia doesn't mean a failure in league 1. Will be interesting to see if he has pace, as we are struggling a bit for that at the moment, especially with Marvin either at left back or offski.

I'd rather Napa gets game at a higher level as possible. We've had players go the Conference and the level below and not really kick on from that and left at the end of their contract no better off. Maybe not having them on call will hurt in the short term, but longer term will prove beneficial. Would a league 2 club take a 1st year pro on loan and give him game time though? Having seen Cheltenham's wingers, probably not.
