OUFC Yellows, I have to say that for someone who claims to be so positive you do seem to enjoy jumping on any rumour that may make out Eales is doing something fishy (pun intended). Not just you but there seem to be a small number of fans that are happier gossiping than actually getting behind what the club is trying to do. Again where have I said it's anything fishy? Show me. In fact 2/3 times I've stated that I DONT think there is anything fishy in it. It's a bloody oxford forum for talking about oxford issues. When u hear from a trust local businessman that the club was being offered for sale, then hear that he was interested in Solihull (that wasn't me) and I stated at the time I didn't believe it. Then a paper comes out and says there was a meeting. Then why can't it be discussed ? It's like Macbeth on here now, you can't say Darryls name unless in a positive manner without having to spin round ,spit over ur shoulder, before begging forgiveness from his fan club . I'm fully behind what the club is trying to do, I'm here 2night supporting the team and putting money in his pocket to help him do it, are you ?

The paper has said there was an alleged meeting not that was a meeting. It also doesn't say Eales it says an OUFC representative. Eales may well of been offering the club around but so what? He has the right to, it's his business at the end of the day. As for going tonight then no I won't be attending as I live in Chester yet I have still spent £330 on a season ticket so the club get my money even though I will attend 4-5 home games this season. Not that I have to justify my support.

Again I haven't had a go at Darryl about it , it's totally his decision to sell, same as it would be if he decided to buy Solihull. But it doesn't mean it can't be spoken about Look how excited everyone got when a paper said sartori might be interested in taking over, I don't see it as any different to that. Is rumour/speculation about a team I care passionately about and possible change of owner, however unlikely is a pretty big deal

If they did, I don't remember it being posted on here and I reckon it would be kept private if it were. Back in January Eales had said that a financial partner / more investment was needed if the club was to be sustainable in the championship, again not the same as the club being directly offered for sale. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38719775 Eales also said that the club wasn't up for sale, but that doesn't stop enquiries being made. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/15334300.Eales__Keeping_ownership_of_the_club_was_key/My house isn't up for sale, but if someone knocks on the door and offers a very good price I'd be interested. I might even ask around if anyone is interested, have it valued at the estate agents, but there is no For Sale sign outside with a price on it. Yes, it's all very carefully worded, and it sounds like the Sartori bid was a lot farther forward than indirectly implied in the Eales statements.

And that's all fair enough, isn't that exactly what debate is about though discussing these things, everyone will have different views the same as we all do over players. No one has ever said it's not totally his choice, but it's surely reasonable when ur told it's in the best interests of the club, to ask why ? As for was it said -

As for was it said - That says Stewart was under the impression the club was for sale in part of full. If in part then that goes down the line of Eales looking for investment rather than fully selling up?

In exactly the same way that Darryl is perfectly entitled to buy 10% share in Solihull while still owning us.

7pm tonight , Court Place Farm, Fans Forum.... there may even be honest answers to all the questions from both (Eales and Clotet) horses mouths on a whole range of burning issues. tonight you can ask them in person .... much better than speculating and or pontificating from behind the cover of a keyboard dunno if there will be any refreshments/bribes provided in the shape of hot dogs Cautionary note for anyone attending the fans forum tonight, be wary and careful of any private conversations you may have while using the facilities at CPF, since its been refurbished, the walls may well have zach installed in them

As I'm still at the disposal of the NHS I can repost some of what's being said from twitter if anyone's interested .
First question from Darryl Eales "Pep, Faz: What happened last night?"
PC: "Thank you for having me. Last night was a bad result and was not at the standard it should be"

PC: "I'm happy to lose a game we didn't deserve to win. This way we can analyse what went wrong better"
PC: "We want to build a team with high tempo, pressure, movement. A team you can go and watch & be proud of"

Q: "There was quite a lot of passing back last night is that something your happy with?"
PC: "No. We want to look forward and play forward, but I think the movement was lacking and there weren't enough options in front of us"

Q: "What's happening with Johnson?"
DE: "Marvin Johnson is not for sale. He's on a 2+1 deal & it would take a huge offer. It would be Pep's decision"

Q: "Will the youngsters like Napa be around the club or loaned out?"
DF: "They've done well around the first team, but we want to get them out playing men's football"

DF: "Anything above the Conference has to be a loan until January so we couldn't recall."
DF: "We want to find a right club, where their needs are met, but it's something we're looking to do"

Q: "Only 1 from Wycombe squad left. Is that a result of the model or success?"
DE: "In business you want to build on continuity, but in football as you progress some players..."
DE: "...cannot come with you & others move on to match their own ambitions"
DE: "I think we go into this season with a better & more rounded squad though"

to pick up....
PC: "The challenge we have now is to keep growing as a squad. Get them to know each other as a squad & improve together"
DF: "It's difficult with players coming from Premier clubs youth where you don't know how they'll adjust to give them long contracts"
DF: "It's the nature of the game at this level unfortunately"
Q: "What is happening with Kelleher being loaned straight out?"
DF: "The plan was always to loan him out so he can get first team experience"

Q: "Did we get it wrong with the stadium closures last night?"
DE: "I presume the decision was based on an attendance of around 3k & policing a smaller crowd"

Q: "Will we be going ahead with 1 upfront this season?"
PC: "The way I see football, we've got to have an experienced & solid defence & turn some of the losses we had last season into wins"
PC: "Going forward we will have hard working midfields who cover, join in with attacks & protect defence. They are not easy to find"
PC: "This will give us a solid base to attack teams"
PC: "I don't consider Obika up front as a loan striker. Hall on the right, Rothwell on the left yesterday it was 3. We should press with 3"
PC: "This will take time for the players to get used to, but that is what we are working on"

PC: "I insisted on clarity. They wanted the option to recall in January. We will sit down & discuss closer to the time"
DE: "Primary motivation was to help a sister club. But we do get 50% of profit on what happens down here"
Q about the training ground
DE: "Council have been great on this helping extend. 1st team will eventually be moving to Harcourt Hill to a new setup there"
DE: "The extension of the BMW lease has been hugely helpful. Thank you Bob Price for that"

Q: "Have their been offers for Johnson? Is he aware of it? Will we keep playing him at left back"
DE: "I have had zero offers for him. Categorically. It's too easy to link things. I don't believe Marvin's performance was related at all"
PC: "For me Marvin is a winger. But the club have been trying to find a good left back to play behind, but they are not easy to find" (Told u londonroader 😉)
PC: "The recruitment highlighted a player & it's a coincidence I have worked with him before"
Pep knows everyone want to see Johnson on the wing. He has asked him to fill in, but told him he sees his future on the wing!
Q: "In that case, why did we let Skarz go?"
DF: "Michael had a conversation with him & said if he wanted to stay he could be we couldn't guarantee a first team start"
DF: "Joe to the decision to move closer to his home back"

Q: "What's the relationship with the council like?"

Q: "Obika, the former Tottenham player, seems to be the centre forward right now. Are we looking for a goalscorer?"
PC: "Jon is a fantastic professional and a good teammate. We have 2 other good strikers in place in Wes & Kane"
PC: "Everyone wants the $1m striker, but there aren't many of them. But... this is a decision the club is always looking at"
