If Morris had hassled their keeper a bit more seeing how far he was off his line he may have got something. Oufcyellows has a point though Bazzer, you would of definitely mentioned the mistake by now if it was Long. I would have done steve but Morris was fairly close to there Keeper on a few occasions but made no attempt.

I'm not sure how how close Morris is to their keeper has any relevance to Clarke going momentarily kamikaze? Still not much Bazzer chats about makes sense to me so...

Headless he never chased down the ball, Clarke I will put that down to his inury being kamikaze and getting back into the swing of things, But Carke has been well missed, Welcome back and a clean sheet.

So you would have mentioned Clarke's mistake (as no doubt you would have done if it had been Long in goal, as was Steve's point), but you couldn't because Morris didn't close their keeper down at a completely different point in the game? Just so I get a clear(?) picture of your thinking.

Or aren't you sure either?

Passed your bedtime isn't it? My post was about Morris simple but I suppose your going to tell me he should play week in week out! Simple, yes, but you replied to a post about Clarke. Why would I think Morris should play every week because I don't understand what relevance that has to Steve's point about our goalkeeper. You seem to be getting yourself very confused.

I'm not confused must be you I was talking about Morris you seem to have included Clarke when I was talking about Morris not closing there keeper down, you raised the issue about Clarkes almost costly error not me.

Erm... Surprised no one has mention Clarke coming that far off his line and missing the tackle, long would have been hung for such a thing If Morris had hassled their keeper a bit more seeing how far he was off his line he may have got something. Talking of Newport........The first game of the '77 or '78 season was away to Newport. I went there. Me and a rather large lad called 'Harry' from Bicester (wonder where he is today.........hmm!) walked through their main side (where their lads were), to get to the end where our lot were. We we untouched. We lost the game I think - 2-1. I also remember the Bristol Rovers away game where we had 3,000 fans and Aldo made his debut, I think. Weird things happened after the game. Still in Bicester I reckon. Was at a bbq with him the other week Yes you were I was there to.

Played well again..and the bottom line is ..we won!...but after getting down from cloud 9, It was against an injury hit side and we scored a flukey one, but then, we were a man down in the second half and defended well. Powder puff in front of goal we must be on the ball next saturday...hopefully I can watch it in Skeggy Butliz

All in all a decent performance under the circumstances, Clarky and Raynes made our defence seem stronger and more dependable
...bar clarkys one rush of blood to the head defence looked rock solid, though sitting back deep and inviting Newport on in the last 15 mins was tempting fate, thankfully a combination of a poor Newport attack and equally poor officials meant we held onto the win
..... officials were at the usual low standard as well as inconsistent in their decisions, can ANYTHING be done to change the ridiculously low standard of match officials???
.... it was very noticable that yesterday we had a lucklustre and lightwieght strikeforce, not helped by Hylton tracking back a lot, we need some proper firepower up front maybe give James Roberts a go against Cambridge?, he KNOWS where the goal is, and HOW to score goals
It seems to me something neither Barnnet or Morris seem particularly bothered in doing is scoring goals for OUFC, they both look slow, uninterested and yes they both seem lazy when Ive seen them play
...though with Hoskins due back 'soon' maybe we will sharpen up up front?

First half we dominated and deserved to be ahead. Third quarter the officials did their best to spoil the game. Fourth quarter we defended resolutely and Newport didn't seriously look like equalising, but it was still a bit nervy towards the end.
