Hylton gave Riley a right bollocking in the first half. Well done Clarkey a tad disappointed looking for a header to a certain free kick no one got to it ah well it went in, Well done Collins.

First off, the Officials were brutal today. The Ref lost control of game that was hard to lose control of and ruined it as spectacle. The sending off was Oscar winning from Jones. I was amazed the lino saw that but missed a lot of other stuff under his nose. Every time I think officiating can't get any worse, it does. The only thing he did consistently was book people. Other than that it was like watching Refereeing bingo.
It was so much better today. We were mobile, active and passed well but didn't ponder too much. All round, the players and staff deserve credit. Rose really helped move the ball and keep the momentum up.

barnett, sort your sh*t out! - we could all see it coming, the guy is a liability, don't care if the player got him sent off, You aren't even at the game, so don't talk shit in a forum when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Surprised no one has mention Clarke coming that far off his line and missing the tackle, long would have been hung for such a thing

This is it. Absolutely fantastic. October is ours. Let's call it "Oxtober". We will go on something of a run now. One defeat in seven, rising up the form table and soon to be rising up the actual table too.

Great game, but real edge of the seat stuff for most of the second half. The fact that we not only hung on to it with a man down, but carried on playing a lot of attacking football, and not simply parked the bus leaves me feeling more optimistic than any time so far this season. Well done lads and well done the crowd - the atmosphere seems to be getting better each home match as well.
PS - anyone know what the argument with the steward in the mail stand in the 2nd half was all about?

Another good performance. If you think just about the performances you can't help but be optimistic that we have an outside chance of the playoffs.
The forwards just need to work on their finishing!

I'll wait until we get the magic 50 points first. A fifth of the way there now. 7 points in the last 4 games is a lot better than the previous 7 games. Hoskins still to come back in about 2-4 weeks too.

Another good performance. If you think just about the performances you can't help but be optimistic that we have an outside chance of the playoffs. The forwards just need to work on their finishing! At this stage of the season 8 points is easily hunted down. But there have been a few too many lutons and mansfields this far. They need to start stringing some wins together. However we are now tougher to beat. One loss in 6(?)

Oufcyellows has a point though Bazzer, you would of definitely mentioned the mistake by now if it was Long.

Very early to start a Saturday match thread. I was thinking along the lines of "this is a watershed match", but it isn't really. Whatever the result and/or performance, nothing will be proved about the squad or management. If we don't win though, I think the mood on this forum and amongst the wider OUFC support could darken. What we need to see is a sturdy defensive performance and a bit of flair to break down what looks like a resolute Newport defence. I'm optimistic about an enjoyable 1-0 win. Crowd about 4,200 with under 4,000 home fans at an L2 match for the first time in ages. I'm bringing one of my nephews and his girlfriend along. They've never seen OUFC live before. I've promised them top entertainment, an electric atmosphere and cuisine to die for. About time you started a Cambridge match thread isn't it?
