Say what you like but that's about as strong a competition for a pre season as there's ever been. Real, City, Inter, Liverpool, AC and Man U amongst it.
16 goals score and just four conceded, three of which were penalties including one by Gerrard last night and the only goal they conceded from open play was a speculative strike from inside his own half by Pjanic for Roma that flew over the head of third choice keeper Ben Amos. Man U have looked very impressive in this and they've not had three of their most influential players - RVP, Carrick, Valencia - to call upon, Rafael limped off home and of course they've been Vidic and Ferdinand down from last years squad.. That's six that would have strolled into the starting eleven last season.
From what I've seen they're pressing the ball all over the pitch with players just hunting the ball down in packs and then bursting forward at breakneck speed. The energy levels look unbelievable and fair play to Rooney, I've never seen him work so hard and look in such good shape. He looks like the kid they signed from Everton when he use to just ran and ran for the 90 minutes and chased down every ball rolled back to the keeper. Another terrific performance from Blackett again last night, he looks nailed on for a starting place if they don't get Hummels or Vermaelen in.
It's interesting on some of the Man U forums that the fans who have watched the tournament in its entirety are saying that Chris Smalling has been man of the tournament by a mile and has barely put a foot wrong. Some even suggesting that he's the captain in waiting. I haven't seen every game and haven't seen one the whole way through, just bits and pieces. He has looked good and him Evans will definitely form the bedrock of the defence.
All good and all Man U fans I guess are so relieved that CL football wasn't achieved because that would have meant a stay for Moyes and the revolution now taking place would never have been. It was a disastrous appointment culminating in a disastrous season but that's gone now and the future looks as bright for Man U as it's ever done.

Why don't you stick this on a Manchester United forum where someone would actually give a damn?

Hats off to them. Congratulations on winning a bunch of meaningless friendlies. Is was the Charity Shield last year. They're certainly talking the talk, but can they walk the walk? I'm not convinced. Some very signings so far for Man Utd, and a has-been manager - it's a bit like when Jim Smith took over second time round. I can't see Man Utd getting into next year's Champions League, never mind winning the Premier League.

It's money sitting there for you. If you won't take the bet with him then you won't with me either but I'll put my money where my mouth is and say that Man U will finish comfortably inside the top four and above Arsenall.

I watched the game and was pleasantly surprised by Chris Smalling. Defended really well in the game, denying Lambert on a couple of occasions. Brilliant ball from Hernandez to Rooney for the goal. Jordan Henderson was good in flashes for Liverpool, who without Suárez struggled to create for most of the game. Manchester United took their chances well, with a great finish from Jesse Lingard for the final goal.

Blackett and Keane (M) have proved to be the real stars. Both have shown maturity beyond their years. Hummels is still a target but these two are going to be very good players. English as well. Encouraging.

Encouraging. Using the word encouraging deliberately after someone commented in it are we? Little bit too obvious but nice try....

Encouraging. I've rated Michael Keane for a while. He's been phenomenal for England's u21 side and should probably have made the breakthrough to the first team last season. Alongside Chris Smalling, who was surprisingly good against Liverpool, Manchester United could push for a European spot this year.

It's topical. It's contained within one ongoing thread. That's a bonus.

It's TYPICAL. It's contained within one LABORIOUS thread. That's a PAIN.( and yet another Baldy/Junior love in) Corrected that for you, always happy to help the hard of thinking. By the way, ' topical' refers to matters current, typical to that which is 'recurrent'. Let me know if you need any more lessons in elementary logic.

Why don't you ask Sihath why he posted on this thread this morning. Maybe he can answer your questions.

Why don't you ask Sihath why he posted on this thread this morning. Maybe he can answer your questions. Well, again for the hard of thinking. I don't have 'questions', hence no question marks. You really do need to keep up. If you ask Santa nicely you might get a brain cell for Xmas, then you could graduate to the intellectual status of, Amoeba. Until that time you will continue to exist in the world of Plankton. Once a 'Junior' always a 'Junior'.

Why don't you ask Sihath why he posted on this thread this morning. Maybe he can answer your questions. I'm still waiting for you to explain and show me where I have claimed to be ITK junior? You always like to ask questions of people yet you seem to not be able to answer any questions that are returned to you.

Now, Smalling,a bit player. Evans a disaster waiting to happen. The future ? Moyes first 3 games W2 D1 F 6 A 0 LVG W 0 D 1 F 2 A 7 Rooney,is it only me,but he seems to have lost a lot of weight,and with it,his power and strength. goals, 2 in 4 games.
