Not a bad way to kick start the LVG era !
Moyes lost his first match to Thailand's equivalent of The Dog and Duck 2-1 so while LA aren't exactly a force in top half PL terms they are still a decent enough side and well in to their season. I saw bits and pieces of it and Herrera looks some player. Fletcher captained the side and that may well be an indicator to the future. Only him and Herrera stayed on for the entire 90 minutes and the pair were superb.
Good too to see fringe players like Young, Rooney and James weighing in with two apiece.
Don't take this is a wind up thread, I'm just pointing out a reasonably significant pre season result.

No results in pre-season are remotely significant.

No results in pre-season are remotely significant. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Baldy has previously stated something similar e.g. after Man U lost to Singha All Stars XI last summer.

Most of us couldn't give a toss about Manure and thankfully limited postings will make us less fed up

If yes, why?

Yeah well, when Robben, Muller, Di Maria, Falcao, Ronaldo and Messi sign he's not gunna get a sniff at first team football.

IF Fletcher is back to his best from a few years ago AND Herrera can cope with the pace of the Premiership AND Shaw can cope with the step up in club AND LVG can find an experienced CB to lead the defense AND LVG can find some capable depth in central midfield - then Man U could be on to something this season. They certainly shouldn't have any problems with creativity and ability in forward positions.
Quite a long list though - many questions to be answered. More than their competitors.

Very good display. Looks like LVG has them fired up. Herrera with 3 assists is impressive.

Do they get as trophy for that?
Too bad that Man Utd will have to face the trickier matches against the likes of Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom in the season coming.

Trophies were irrelevant 4 months ago! Why the sudden change of heart? It wouldn't have anything to do with Arsenal thrashing Hull City 3-2 in the FA Cup Final, would it?

3-0 up at half time against a full strength Roma.
Say what you like about pre season but I'm watching this on MUTV and Man U are just different class.
Mata and Rooney are playing football from another planet.

Mata and Rooney are playing football from another planet. Not a full strength Roma. Both sides resting players.. Great goal by Pjanic. He must have been 15 yards inside his own half. I think that referee had been told by the yanks to try and get the game to penalties. God knows how he could give that penalty against Keane. He was a yard and a half from a ball pinging around and, what's more, his arms were tucked right into his body. Bizarre.
