We were told last Thursday that at least one if not twp signings could be possible before the Didcot game, but more likely on Monday when they could join the rest of the squad at Bisham. With still no news, I suppose there is a distict possibility that now that Fazackerley and Mark Thomas are on the scene and Kitson's wage freeded up, we may well be looking at better players .

More likely the money being offered is not great and players are biding their time. It all feels a bit headless chicken at the moment. I get holding on but I am edging towards concerned as the squad looks thin and there is a reason why they call it pre season training......,
Surely going to Bisham you would want as many through the door as possible, especially when it's geared up as a bonding session?

We've had years of false dawns and awful decisions at the top, the way last season was allowed to become a non event has left some fans annoyed, frustrated and now weary of the new fellas...The gap between club and fans has grown wider and i guess many want to see signs of things improving. The timing of the added ownership could not have come at a worse time for on field matters, Lenagan has suggested we would have had just 1 more and other clubs have strengthened whilst we sat still...Whether the right players are available and importantly are or will want to come here is open to question but one things sure as things stand we are likely to struggle and the new season is getting ever closer.
As i've said elsewhere we have still had no explanation as to why last season was allowed to end as it did and i guess this will now be swept under the carpet but as fans who once again are being asked to dip into our pockets an explanation would not go amiss.

I've jusy had a mate txt me to say that midfielder Keith Andrews is on trial with a team at Bisham Abbey. Ex Ipswich etc, didn't he play on loan for us at one stage? NI international at one stage I think. I'm putting 2 and 2 together and assuming he's turning out for us in whatever practice games we've arranged there, but equally he could be playing for the opposition against us. HH

We have been left well behind regarding transfer matters, Not sure about Hylton time will tell, Collins looks a good acquisition, So 2 and 1/2 weeks to go before kick off. Worrying!

Last season happened because IL was allowed to run things without any challenges. Our fans believed everything that came out of his mouth and were taken in. We are now where we are and I'm sure 3/4 signings will follow this week.

HH We had Keith Andrews as a kid, one of our more exciting and productive loans. He was decent then, on loan from Wolves. He has also played for sides such as WBA and Blackburn, I quite like us being linked to these good players.

Got to September for signings, though.
Without wanting to state the bleedin' obvious, the ownership thing took a few weeks out of the window.
Any manager has targets, but it's whether or not those targets actually want to come.
But there is no doubt the majority of what appeared to be 'good' signings have gone elsewhere.
We are very threadbare at the moment and the longer it takes the less time the coaching staff to integrate them into whatever system they intend playing.
At the moment I predict we will be playing 1-5-5

According to Sky, Andrews has been told by Bolton he's free to leave and not been included in there tour so could be true!

More money was found for Connolly and improved wages were found to replace Hall with Wroe. Williams loan was extended to the end of the season at that time. However, it remained his business and he remained the sole decision maker and we lost 'probably' ยฃ1m still.

We also had an unexpected windfall in the cup run, So the more money found was probably from that.

The odd press release was not challenging. Take the delay with replacing Wilder; from memory it was only after the Chesterfield game. Relationships got far too cosy thus not allowing IL to be put under any real pressure.
Quick question for you. After supporting the other bid, how do you feel you can now go to the new owners and expect to have them welcome you with open arms?

I seem to remember Keith Andrews getting slated by a section of the fanbase when he had his brief loan spell here - no idea why, I rated him. Probably the same section who slated Gary Monk and Neil Cutler when they were on loan here. All three went on to have good careers at a higher level than ourselves.
Can't imagine him dropping to League Two but you never know.

After supporting the other bid, how do you feel you can now go to the new owners and expect to have them welcome you with open arms? You don't only need to publish a press release to be challenging. You can make phone calls and have face to face meetings. As for your question - show me where I supported the other bid (you mean Mehtven's bid)? If you mean talking about it, then yes. If you're on about seeing the BID itself after the sale of the club, then yes. How can I make a judgement on the other bid when I don't know what it entails/entailed? If you mean by praising the Methven Group for actually telling the entire fanbase their plans, then yes charge me. But I can assure you I never supported one bid over the other - you couldn't as one bid was never disclosed.

I'd expect him to go to either of them ahead of us, especially as we'd only be looking at him short term unless Clarke has suffered a setback.

Problem with new keepers is that they hardly get the pulse racing.
What's puzzling me somewhat is that a coup,e of seasons ago, even last season TBH with Casket-Forceps - we were able to attract a good standard of loanee. Even Lee Collins from you know where wasn't bad.
I try not to be biased but surely OUFC must be a more attractive proposition over the majority of L2 clubs. I know loanees aren't everyone's cup of tea but a season long loan benefits all concerned - if they are any good, of course.
I'd rather have a Prem or Championship loanee than some gnarled old pro who's been knocking around the lower leagues for years.
And Kitson has put me right off old, but previously very good, players

'Keeper Schwan Jalal signed for Bury earlier in the summer.
As for Tyrone Barnett he has two years left on his Peterborough contract and they are looking to get rid. Must be on very decent money at Posh.
He is not available for loan apparently.

Lets get this in order. Why are people knocking Lenegan? He was a pair of hands and did not leave us in the s**t. Are some so called fans forgetting Maxwell and Kassam? Wake up!!!! It has set a base for our future which is now entering the next phase.
Keith Andrews would be one hell of a signing. He would score a LOT of goals from midfield and would be the best scoring midfielder since Matt Murphy. Forget his record at the top level, he would be player of the season in L2. Not quite had the career of Whitehead, but is not miles behind.
This signing would leave us a striker or two short, but closer to meaning business.
