I find it amusing that a club who look down on "tinpot" set ups cannot handle it when a historically bigger club give you a little stick! Big fleas have little fleas, Upon their backs to bite 'em, Little fleas have smaller fleas, So on, ad infinitum.

Problem is even when "other" fans contribute valid posts, some on here give abuse (like there space has been invaded). I find it amusing that a club who look down on "tinpot" set ups cannot handle it when a historically bigger club give you a little stick! f*ck off you t*at! What a most articulate person you are. You really didn't need to point out how right I was!

How can a thread from a Portsmuff fan prompt so many replies. Surely they are the ones who fucked it up.

I expect I will get the same answer Phippo but I am curious that fans of a club like Oxford should go about mocking other clubs for being "tinpot". Can that really be true?
Have to say that Swindon fans don't all love Pompey and have enjoyed some rivalry from time to time but they are secure enough in themselves to respect Pompey's greater level of support, now as much as ever and what the fans have done to save the club.
I imagine that Zero the Hero has it about right above but the thought of mocking some very friendly, decent clubs in League 2 for being tinpot would be bizarre.
I'd also be genuinely interested to see if the consensus is that Wilder would have taken the *ox up. Whilst true that he's only the second manager ever in their history to have gained them League status, Oxford has never really threatened at the business end of the season under him anyway.

I suppose we can both agree that the whingey sky sports viewers are pretty contemptible but I understand they have a reasonable hardcore of passionate fans - but I have certainly found that Pompey fans have been loud more often than not, whatever their numbers and actually the 15,000 they get now is by no means the lowest they have had to put up with in history.

Portsmouth fan or not, it does appear that the setiment is correct - before Xmas there is no way we could miss out on either automatic promotion or at the very least the play offs - i havent looked at the numbers but I am sure that if we look only at the games since Xmas, we would be a lot nearer relegation that promotion surely

Can't wait to go to Fratton Park in the 2018/19 season...
To see a Tesco Extra and to discover that AFC Portsmouth are groundsharing with Havant & Waterlooville and playing in the Southern League Division 1

We're sh*t, and we know we are.
Not sure what's to argue with at the moment.

f*ck off you t*at! What a most articulate person you are. You really didn't need to point out how right I was! indicates he was joking. Portsmouth are bigger than OUFC by a long way in terms of history, trophies, support and potential. No question. No-one seriously thinks they're "tinpot". Neither do Oxford fans (on here, at least) routinely refer to smaller clubs as tinpot. We do refer to Wycombe as "non-league and tinpot" because they imagine we are their rivals. They are not, the Scum from down the A420 are. The Wycombe reference is, again, ironic and in jest. The reason Pompey1898 was banned was not because he is an outsider venturing onto our territory (we have regulars on here from Pompey, Scum, D&R and Northampton) or because he pointed out the truth that we have yet again bottled our promotion chances. He was banned for clear and obvious trolling; writing "two great results today, Oxford lost, Pompey won." As a guest on here, that was just rude.

I actually think it's perfectly fair for Pompey fans to use the T word in describing us. They're unquestionably a bigger club than us for all the reasons YH lists above. In turn, though, we get to have a good laugh at them because despite them being bigger and having greater resources - we're still ahead of them in the football pyramid and absolutely mullered them at their place in front of a full house.
Similarly, I'm still going to call Crawley tinpot - because they are - but fully accept that they can laugh at us whilst they're a full division above us in the table (Thank God Stevenage can't do that any longer.......)
Isn't that how it all works?
