Hmmm. I don't recall us being in the Premier League a few years back. Playing in Europe and all that. Talk about being top of League 2 and fecking it up seems meek in comparison.

Much as I hate to say it the troll that started the thread was right - we were top top the league and we did f*** it up 'We' ?? I think our downfall came as a result of one manager scurrying off and IL taking toooo long getting in a replacement- so it was not 'we' who f*cked it up.

So yes WE f*cked it up. I don't believe at all that CW was 'hounded out' -but made the decision to quit based purely on his situation with Club and family, he didn't have the confidence that IL was going to give him even more extended time than he already had. He quit because the offer from Northampton gave him financial security, it's not in his character to let 'muppets' influence such decisions. 'WE' suggests you include yourself in that statement, which by your reckoning makes you a 'muppet' too.

Chris Wilder was doing a good job, should have been given a two year contract and backed by our chairman but no, everyone thought we could do better, this will/is biting us on the backside, IMO we're on the downward spiral now, hope I'm wrong but Mr Lenagan has dropped a huge one here, many won't be renewing their season tickets......

The only bit Lenagan f*cked up was by not getting the new manager in sooner e.g. Last summer and when Wilder finally left, by not getting his replacement after 4 weeks instead of 12 weeks. Glad to see the back of Wilder, arrogant/disrespectful so and so.

Chris Wilder should have gone long before he did. Yes, we were doing reasonably well, but his style of football, and attitude to the fans, were slowly killing the club, and the morale of everyone.
Just look at the crowd on Friday. If Wilder had still been in charge in the same circumstances, I doubt the crowd would have been over 6000, let alone 7000.
Wilder has left Waddock with a poor side. He wasted resources, and its costing us now.

Total crap. Wilder would have got us in the play-offs. Poor, poor decision by IL and even worse the delay in not appointing quicker and then allowing us to strenghten when CW left.

Ffs wilder had wanted to leave for a long time after his comfort blanket (KT ) was replaced . As for this squad it will be a lot smaller after the end of the season with a few surprises.

He had 2 f*cking chances and fucked it up, so why you think he would have achieved it this time is beyond me. To add to that, he always wasn't happy with the cards he'd been dealt by Lenagan in terms of not being able to bring in loans players and having to play youngsters, yes having to play them. Where as they've been one of the shinning lights to come out of this season so far. The guy was a complete bellend in the end, and I for one and glad he's gone. And to p*ss right on his cornflakes, I hope we're the team to send his team down. Shame it's Northampton as they're close to us, but I'd of wished it on any club he managed. Arrogant, disrespectful knob.

Thank you, Pompey fan, for reminding us that we were top of the League at Christmas and now can't even stutter into the play-offs. I'm sure a lot of Oxford fans didn't realise this was the case. You also seem to be suggesting that we have become a bit of a joke team. Again, you are probably right, as you, of all people, must know what a joke team is. I bow to your erudite understanding of this concept. After all you have been supporting the biggest joke team in the league for the past five years.
And as for this great loyal Pompey support you mention: er, didn't half your 'loyal support' head straight to the exits after Oxford's fourth goal at Fratton last August?
