I seem to recall the first time I heard the 'Your're shit - aaaarrgghhh' with aarrggh going on for ages was during our league cup replay against Man Yoo at Old Trafford in Dec 83. I think the Man Yoo fans started it and we duly nicked it during the game. The London Road then adopted this (with added gusto!) in our next home game at the manor. I use to love it. Really made me laugh when it would sound like it was dying out, only for someone new to take it on with a fresh 'aaaaaaarrrghhh'!

It is a class song when everyone joins in safe to say everyone will know the words its catchy and has one line that can make it our own "this is our message to U's"

The flags on pulleys at the back today were a good touch. Well done to those behind this. Here's my view from under the big flag in the East Stand too! Attachments:

The flags and banners were great. Should have the flags flying for the whole game if possible.

5 of us did manually pull the banner up at the back of the stand.
Thank you those who helped out with the display by waving the flags and getting the Ox head surfer going.
5 of us worked for 90 minutes to get the banners up in the East and North stand. It was hard work, and fair play to the others involved.
This was just the first game. There will be a plan for the Wycombe game.
Yet again, the Yellow Army did the club proud.

I think the efforts to improve the atmosphere are positive, the speakers in the centre of the East Stand were to loud. Pre match you had to shout to the person next to you. If the music is to loud it stop chants because you it's hard to compete with the music.

I worked harder for couple hours doing the flags than I do most days at work!!! Would be good if we could get more flags from other fans at games. Also be good if there are more people willing to help put the banners up too?. There's now plenty of space in the ground for fans banners, with back wall and at front of the oxford mail end, back wall of North stand and the unused seats.

Great atmosphere yesterday I thought.
Was genuinely surprised when they confirmed the attendance. I'd have put another 500-750 on that easy based on the volume at times.
Fair play to JL and co. Top effort all round.
Didn't notice the 'Glory Awaits You' banner. Dig that out and put that on the halfway line on the North Stand so players can see it when they run out!
For the first time in ages I'm looking forward to our next home game. Long may it continue...

Took 2 hours pre match and an hour after (players were driving home) by the time we'd packed up. Banners, flags etc can be even bigger than yesterday but it needs numbers to set these things up. Pleased people thought it looked alright though. If people fancy bringing their banners and flags please feel free to cover the front of the east stand where the cable ties are and the back of the north stand. We are running out of banners!! Good to see the club are embracing this stuff and helping where possible. A lot of comms with JL, MS and the club has hopefully resulted in a brighter ground for match days. We may not be able to paint it but we can cover it in yellow and blue banners.

I thought the atmosphere was better yesterday and the flags definitely added a bit of colour, well done to all of those involved.
I assume that there's still no smoking area available for those in the Oxford Mail as the toilets were clouded in cigarette smoke again.

Want to improve the atmosphere? Then there is one thing I can suggest.
There is a common feature in all of the best fans in Europe. Ajax, Bayern, Dortmund, Gala, Fenerbache, Celtic, Rangers, Juventus and many more. What is that feature? A Drum.
Drums get the fans going, can set the pace for songs and in all creates a better atmosphere. Some of you will of course say "no drums are tinpot" but look at the list I just put before you. Their fans are far from Tinpot.
If we want to improve the decibel level at the Kassam, then a drum is a must.

Loved the flags, well done to those who arranged that and carried it out. The music was rotten. The point about a football crowd is that it is not a disco. You've got all ages from 2 to 102. So you have to cater to all tastes, as much as you ever can. Much of it was stuff that would have been OK to dance to if you are that way inclined, but was simply wrong for a football crowd. Secondly it was too loud. I like talking to the people around me before the match - about the team, the match, the last match etc. It was too loud to do that. And finally (and worst) when some chanting/singing got going towards kickoff, the piped music drowned it out, and people stopped. So turn it down a bit, revise the playlist (sometimes just a little cheese is good! ) and when the crowd gets going, turn it off.

Also and i know this has been said a lot in the past but all the singers need to be together in one block. The best fans and groups have certain areas of their ground. I know we have the east stand but not everyone sings and everyone is spread out. I know people will say well i want my seat or i want a good view too. So this will not happen but if we could get the middle block of the east stand as the "yellow army" block then everyone who wants to stand and sing goes in there.

I don't know what the whole Vendetta against Drums is about. I agree, small clubs with a drum sound tinpot but only because all you can hear is the drum. The drum is meant to be used to keep people in time, to hype everybody up and to involve more people. If there was one at the kassam It would sound a lot better.

I don't believe we need to have a specific section in the East Stand. Yesterday proved that if the club, players and fans all unite together, a decent atmosphere can be generated.
Best way to improve the atmosphere further? Promotion!
Bigger attendances and more away fans. Simple
Everything that is being done now by the Yellow Army is great and will just increase in size and impact as we move up the leagues

I believe Celtic put aside a decent area for standing singers.
