Yellowbrains you missed a picture of a great stadium, with a mixture of both seating and standing www.footballgroundguide.com/morecambe/Sarge with your reason i can see an added advantage to standing, i did love the days at the manor. Freedom to move etc. So would unreserved seating make the atmosphere better? upset a lot of people i guess but not me for once having to move seats this weekend in order to make sure i get 3 seats together. ... unreserved seating, why not? freedom of choice to stand or sit is the most important issue IMO ... priory saturday mrdiaz?

Sarge did you see the bbc breakfast news this morning, had some lady from FSF on there talking about safe standing. showed a stadium in the austria, looked a bit like a cattle market design with a barrier on each row, that kind of design is totally different to the old style, yes its safe but it wont allow for moving around like you talked about.
Im actually getting really interested in this topic now.

Its probably why the rail seating installed a terrace is referred to as SAFE standing

The link below's an update on the FSF safe standing petition and details on what we can all do as individuals to maximise the chances of the campaign reaching the ears of the powers that be. www.fsf.org.uk/news/Safe-Standing-Petition-passes-10000-signatures.phpI can't emphasize this enough, we've got a limited time from now to June 17th when the safe standing bill has it's second reading in parliament. Please look at the link and do what you can of the 6 steps on there to further the safe standing campaign. We've got to use the time until then to maxmum effect and let the footballing authorities and government know just how strong many supporters feel about this. About 80 Oxford fans have signed the petition so far (well done all of you) but that's a drop in the OUFC ocean. If you believe fans should have the choice to stand or sit at games - please sign the petition. Our aim is to do a paper petition of fans before our last home game with Lincoln on April 30th and to get as many fans signed on it as possible that day. We'll be needing as many volunteers to help us with this petition on the 30th as possible. Anyone who can give up some of their time pre or post match on the 30th to help, please PM myself, Amersham Dave or Sarge. Right now we're just waiting on the FSF to make the petition downloads available and for Kelvin Thomas to confirm it's ok for us to do the petition around the ground on the 30th. cheers

A little recommendation I seem to have had some success with. Any facecnut users send a group message out to all contacts with the link requesting them to sign the petition.
Even if 100 do and pass it on it should knock the signatures up. Was hoping someone on questiontime in ox on Thursday may have mentioned it. Was too late for tickets but was well up for getting that out there.

Kelvin's given us permission for the FSF safe standing petition to do the rounds in and around the ground before Lincoln on 30th April.
We've got the download of the petition forms from the FSF too so all we need now is as many volunteers as we can get to help on the day.
If you can spare some of your time to petition fans on the 30th please PM myself, Sarge or Amersham Dave.
We'll be looking to get something in the Chesterfield programme and hoping for something to go up on the Official website about the petition before the Lincoln game.
Dave will be taking some petition forms up with him to Accrington on Saturday too.
