Im pleased to announce, that the next Ultimate Support Saturday, will be on Saturday 24th November against Northampton Town. A lot of thought has gone into which game we would choose, and we feel the Northampton game has the potential to be the most successful. As with the previous two, the aim of Ultimate Support Saturday, is to improve the atmosphere and attendances at Oxford United home matches. Last year against Bristol Rovers was a big success, with a great crowd, great result, and amazing atmosphere. The day was enjoyed by everyone, and the crowds in the home games that followed were up. We are looking for more of the same this time, but we would like it to be even better. With all the talk of the same old songs, and new ones needed, its a great time for this to happen. The atmosphere at football matches is one of the most enjoyable parts of being a football supporter. So we aim to have new songs at our matches, and for everyone to get involved in creating a better atmosphere. This is our fans day. We want every Oxford fan who can, to be a part of this. Its your day, so lets all work together to make it the best day possible. We would like fans to bring friends and family along, to show them what Oxford United are about. People who dont come to often, or havent been before, can become hooked on Oxford United on days like this. Especially kids. I remember when i was younger, the incredible atmosphere at football, it made me want to come back and watch Oxford United again and again. Im 32 and a season ticket holder, and have a 2 year old son who will come with me when he is older. Its all possible because i got hooked when i was younger. This is what the day is about. So plan a day at the football with your mates, come along with your family and workmates, and be a part of the day. The club are behind this again, which is great. Ian Lenagan has backed the idea, and im grateful to him for that. Id like to thank Chris Williams, who has had to put up with me for the last week, while we got things sorted out. It nice that the club is backing the fans when we come up with things like this. Also id like to give credit to Tim Walker, who when i came up with the idea of doing something in 2010, came up with the name Ultimate Support Saturday. Without him, this would never have got off the ground. There will be things happening in the build up to help promote Ultimate Support Saturday, but its all of us who can make a real difference. Spread the word, tell people about it, encourage them to come along. Above is a flyer (kindly designed by loveandpride). Please download it and take it into schools, colleges, work, and pubs, and anywhere else you think people might see it. This is our day, it belongs to us all. So any ideas to make this better, feel free to suggest them on here, or pm me. There is still plenty ive missed out, but i will add things on the thread as we go along. Its good to finally be able to announce it. Facebook event - www.facebook.com/events/300614050054464/Twitter, @ussoufc. Please use the hashtags #ussoufc and #bringthenoise to help promote Ultimate Support Saturday. ESB: Thanks to loveandpride for the above flyer!

Brilliant work as always JL. Would be good if this thread could be a sticky up until the match. I'll be downloading the flier and will put them out and about. Like i've said in PM's i've spoke to mates who work for Jack FM and they're going to see what they can do. Hopefully they'll advertise it and back it. The Rovers game was brilliant last season. With a big away following too. Our players always produce the goods in big matches and good atmospheres! Would be good to have as many flags/banners and scarves etc as we can at the game to make as much yellow as possible. Would love us to get a big crowd.
Everyone on the social network sites should constantly post about it, and get as many people aware about it as possible!!!

Thank you loveandpride. The flyer is great, and id really like to thank L&P for designing the flyer. We have been working on things for a while, so its good for everyone to see the end result. Ive set up an Facebook event, that fans can invite people along to if they can, as well as fellow supporters. www.facebook.com/events/300614050054464/

A discount on tickets for the day would increase numbers and a discount on beer at the Priory would help the noise...!

Good win, 60% will come back again. Will help the club with the game, and games after it. Another bumper crowd for Cheltenham at home, and after christmas could be looking good.

We want to increase the attendance, and with crowds not being as high as we would have hoped, we believe this game could help kick starts crowds improving In the games that follow. And for something like this, atmosphere from away fans is important to make it a really special atmosphere. A lot of thought has gone into which game we choose, with a lot of things taken into consideration. We hope its a success, for the fans and the club.

The Priory has offered to do a happy hour, offers on drinks and food because its Ultimate Support Saturday. Thank you to Tim for the great gesture. Your support is appreciated.
As it says on the flyer, visit the Priory pre and post match, for food and drink. Not only does it help Tim and the Priory, but its the place to be.

It's a good idea to have it against Northampton, they'll bring close to a thousand so it'll all add to the atmosphere. You're more motivated to sing against good numbers of away fans as opposed to a load of empty blue seats!
