I'm on my way home, Oxford was by far the better team tonight there keeper made a great save from Craddock at 0.0 the ref was very good but the two key points was as follows, Heslop gave the ball away on the edge of there area only for a long ball over top that did Raynes but when he went to close it down there player crossed only for there player to out jump two of our players and head in. 2nd talking point was the Lino there player was a yard offside for there 2nd goal how on earth he didn't see it bamboozled us away fans. Why take Potter off Heslop is poor.

Can't believe people are blaming Wilder when it sounds like we continued saturdays form and completely outplayed them. Some fans really need to get a grip. It really doesn't sound like we did much wrong tonight.

I don't honestly see us going up at all this season, we are so inconsistant! We win and then we lose, thats not playoff form, let alone the top 3.
If i may be critical of CW, i certainly wouldn't of taken Potter off for Hilarious Heslop. I dont care if Alfie got a booking, if all managers did that, then we would see subs after 5 mins in some games.
It certainly sounded as if we had dominated the game, and created lots of chances. We just couldn't put the ball in the net, which seems odd after sticking 5 in against Accy at the weekend. Normally when you get a result like that, your strikers are in form, yet couldn't hit a barn door tonight. To come away empty handed is very frustrating. We need to pick ourselves up and look to beating a poor Wycombe side. I dont think this team with currant management is capable of promotion, or the playoffs imo.
Chris Wilder out! Andy Melville out! Mickey Lewis out!

I have just received a call from someone who was at Rochdale. It appears we did play well for long periods but we still lost 2-0.
The general feeling is that Mr Wilder has not got the ability to install confidence, motivate or make right decisions and if this is allowed to continue, a relegations fight might be just around the corner.
IL should act now before crowds drop even more and we get into a right old mess.

Just got home. Agree with roley. We were far the better team but if we don't take our chances then this will continue to happen. Should have been 1 up inside 1st 2mins as their keeper flapped and Alfie missed a sitter from 6 yards pushing it past the far post. Could have been all over by half time. The keeper made a fantastic save in the 2nd half and our threat petered out with the removal of Alfie. We lost all pace going forward and heslop was awful. Other things that cost us was the 1st touch of beano and a few others which cost us shooting chances and the final ball in was poor on several occasions. If it had been a draw then I would have said 2 points dropped, it was better than Vale but will we ever win up north again, just have to hope morecombe is the one

Raynes is out Saturday after getting his 5th Yellow. Wilder said he is lost for words on how we didn't win that game. He also said something about Potters sitter. That's what I see on Twitter from Oxford Mail anyway.

i disagree that alfies was a sitter. Tight angle and if he'd hit it on target the keeper would likely to have saved it, but i suppose we will never know. I think the problem tonight lies in the fact we only really create half chances, we didnt seem to create any real clear cut ones.

The cross was a scewed shot so keeper was out of position. He should have buried it.

It really sums up our recent form that we were beaten by a team who were absolute rubbish but took two of the three decent chances they had, when we played by far the better football but couldn't take the large number of decent chances we had.

Aside from tonight. Does it really sum up our recent form? What games can we say we were unlucky to lose or draw?

Denis Smith - "For 80% of the game, Oxford were the better side" - "They [Rochdale] never looked like scoring" - "You can't criticise anyone at Oxford for that performance" - "That was an excellent performance, just not an excellent result" - "To lose that game is a shock; a major shock" - "If we (love it when he says "we") continue to play like that, we'll win a hell of a lot more than we lose" - "As a manager, I can honestly say that that team will reach the playoffs" If Smith thinks that team will reach the play offs then he is utterly clueless. We might reach the Conference play offs next season but that's about it. I'm sure Dennis Smith has a better idea on the quality and the perfromance he has just seen, than you sitting at home.

Aside from tonight. Does it really sum up our recent form? What games can we say we were unlucky to lose or draw? york away they had 3 shots. And Cheltenham away too. As well as Rochdale the people who went will say those games we looked the stronger side. (I know people will say it's points that matter, or you make your own luck, but read the question. )

Its quite disheartening to come on here and find people who didn't go to the game moaning that its the same old...when by the sound of those who actually went - it wasn't. I know results are what matters, but from my understanding there has been a big change in performance in the last 2 games. Last night sounds closer to the Accrington performance than the PV one. We may have lost but if we continue this form the results will come.
