I have heard that the reason behind Cole not being involved in any team is because teams have come in and asked about him but because he is on a good contract and good money he refuses to go. Wilder has said that if Cole wont leave then he wont be involved in any of the sides.
how true this is i dont know but everything this person has said before has been true.

in all honesty we've dug ourselves into a hole if true. Just like with Eddie Hutchinson, we offered him these good terms so we've got to take ultimate responsibility.
The guy clearly has some talent and we're yet to hit the annual period where everyone seems to get injured, so i still think he has a part to play.

I was excited when i heard we had signed him, every time i had seen him he had played really well and always a threat. The few times I've seen him play for us, he's looked so uninterested and just looks like he can't be bothered.
This is another Eddie Hutch, i think he will play maybe 2 games before the end of the season, due to injuries. He must be able to see that if he isnt allowed to train or play with any of the oxford teams, he will lose out in the long term.

Cole's career with us was cooked when he failed to track back against West Ham, exposing Tonkin countless times down the left. Hauled off at half-time.

But Wilder brought him in, gave him a good contract but never gave him a proper run in the team.
What's the point of that?

Maybe we will end up loaning him out somewhere yet having to pay a share of his wage, cant imagine we will keep him for the whole of his 2 year contract.

Disappointed by Cole as was very happy when we signed him. Lots of rumours re him and unless the club reveal something or Cole says something we wont know

A team for Saturday is not picked just on the basis of how players perform in matches It's how they do in training and their general attitude If they do those two things right then it's onto the next stage ... playing in a game I don't know what the situation is with Cole but I'd wager that he has been poor in training and that his attitude is not right. So when you say he hasn't been given a chance, really, it is more likely he hasn't given himself a chance

But surely a professional footballer wants to play games. I dont buy this " getting a good contract, not wanting to play" business. If he's not happy being with us then surely it would be in his own interest to put himself in the shop window. What's he achieving by not going out on loan. If he doesn't play for the entirety of his contract (2 years) then he will be in no fit state to play for anyone. I would probably be fitter than him! If this is the case, and I certainly hope its not, the Cole only needs to look at Midson and LSD to see what can happen after a spell on loan. There's more to this than meets the eye, methinks.

It's very strange, even when Hutchinson was cast aside, he was still mentioned in match previews about being out of favour or whatever. Nothing has been heard about Cole since October??

Its the complete silence on the subject. It only looks more and more suspicious the longer it goes without his name even being spoken or an update on what the situation is.

I used JackFM's msn messenger function to ask them about Cole - their response
"we've asked the club since you spoke to us the other week. they've not said much really, but we can apparently expect some kind of news in the near future. that's really all anybody will say."
