It was nice to see the Wimbledon fans stand and join in with the applause both before and during the game on Sunday. Thank you, Wombles.

I cannot see how he expects to get some top job since his total managerial experience is 4 games, and I am amazed that people are interviewing him. If he wants a career in management I suggest he learns his trade. Ask gary Neville Yes, that went well didn't it

If Hylton isn't good enough for L1 (and I am willing to concede that the coaching staff at the club might know better than I do!) then we have obviously failed to replace him with a L1 equivalent. And a striker who is prepared to hassle defenders and help us defend from the front as well as actually running effectively at the opposition is something that was sadly missed today (and in some other games this season).

That was terrible.
I still stick with my view of Wes Thomas when we signed him. Pretty much a journeyman striker, won't work hard, won't score enough goals. Hemmings (disappointing) and Thomas don't work together well at all. If we are going to play two up front, from the current squad I am afraid one of them has to be Taylor.
The formation didn't work - and wasn't working from the start. Why Appleton didn't change either the personnel or the tactics after 15 minutes baffles me. We were so obviously being out-passed, out-muscled and (let's face it) out-played.
Playing Maguire out wide is a waste of both his talents and a wide player's slot.
Why on earth did we pay that amount for Marvin Johnson? It's going to work out at about £50,000 per time he actually beats his man. All season.
Passing was sideways and backwards, followed by a hoof that neither Thomas nor Hemmings ever got anywhere near all game.
Sercombe was poor, Lundstram (supposedly MoM - ha, ha, ha) was equally ineffective.
Lets just hope it was the 'Curse of the cameras for league games' that we seem to suffer from and that they are reminded what it is they are supposed to be doing by next Saturday. Poor decisions by Appleton today (selection/substitutions/tactics) as well.

Not sure we (or OxVox) should forget the past - I think we and they should bear it very much in mind as negotiations/discussions go on...

Well I watched the England/Malta game and it was pretty poor.
Malta were absolute rubbish, they just put everyone behind the ball - which I guess wasn't unexpected.
But England - dear lord. Apart from a period at the end of the first half, I thought I was watching walking football. Admittedly there was a lot of passing. Most of it sideways. None of it incisive. They just played the ball about (slowly) in front of the Maltese defence.
England will be up against it on Tuesday night, I reckon.

Surely until we know more or discussions get a lot further along the track, it is impossible to make much comment apart from to applaud OxVox for their efforts and to bear in mind that those talking to FK aren't wet behind the ears and aren't ignorant of his track record, character and motivations. It MUST be a good thing that at least discussions are going on.

But how will it affect England's chances in Qatar? Well after this huge boost that the EFL have given to the cream of this country's young English players, I confidently expect us to go over there and win it without conceding a goal.

Did he give any reason why it was a success? I am struggling to think of one, it's turned into a disaster. From memory: Someone at Southampton said it was good for their Academy It is (apparently) good for L1 and L2 Academy players (yeah, right!) The prize money had gone up 'As an Oxford fan' (his words) we earned a lot from it last year and lower league clubs could do the same again with prize money of £10,000 per game. Jerome then pointed out that the attendances were down so the prize money was offset by loss of gate revenue and IL replied... The competition wasn't all about the attendances Errm, that's it IIRC. Pretty thin stuff - reminded me of 'Defend the Indefensible'! Jerome was doing the interview and was pretty sceptical. I expect we will be able to 'listen again' to IL's words of wisdom on the RadOx site at some point - but life's too short. If someone else wants to listen to check the accuracy of my poor memory, that might be a good idea!

What is both obvious and extremely worrying is that absolutely nobody in the Leave campaign actually had (or has) any real agreement about (or indeed much idea at all of) any sort of plan should we actually vote to exit.
It's no good saying that everything will be the same except we won't allow free movement of people while keeping all the trade deals. It won't happen - that would be perceived as a better deal than actual members get! It is a complete leap into the dark, and a result of giving people a referendum where they can vote against something unpopular without having any real idea of what it was going to be replaced with.

Ian Lenegan will be on radio Oxford at 8:30 this morning about EFL Trophy etc Well he played that with a very straight bat - wouldn't admit that the format of the competition was a failure (indeed said it was a success!!! Lol), was adamant the same format might be used next year and other years ongoing. Laughably he claimed that the games were good for the Academy players of L1 and L2 teams - even though you get fined if you play too many of them. No mention of the 'whole game final solution' (or whatever it is called) of which this is a part. Listening to him, I was reminded why I like DE so much.

I suspect we asked, he said 'I am not saying yes or no without seeing some plans and drawings - you do want to change my property after all. And I'm not sure you'll get planning permission anyway.' And NOW he is being a cock over it because he seems to have fallen out with the club. We all know what sort of person (I use the word loosely) he is - why are we surprised?!!

I know it is fairly obvious that Kassam doesn't give much of a stuff whether he is Mr Popular or not - but wouldn't it be more in his interests to be helpful to the club, especially if it costs him little or nothing? Presumably if we get to the championship he will get more rent off us, he will make more from the bars, could change more for the advertising, the food concessions etc?
It seems as if he is trying to screw every last penny out of the club in the short term without considering what might be the advantages to him in the (potentially) very near future. That says to me that far from being 'the custodian of the club' or even just being an astute businessman maximising his profits, he is actually and actively seeking the disadvantage of the club at every turn.

Are we sure they have actually finalised the rules yet? Surely they are still changing them?
An extra point or three for having 'U23' in your team title? A special rule to make non-Prem B teams play while hopping? A 'hit the crossbar' challenge to see which team has to play as 'skins' in the next match? Half a point for losing but playing 'quite well'? Draws decided on the numbers of corners gained?
Actually I should shut up - I may be giving them ideas!!!

It is quite telling that on the BBC website, tonight's results for this competition come below those for the conference and the third qualifying round of the FA Cup. Mind you it comes above the Ferrari Packaging Lowland League, so that's alright then.

2698 there. If I'd put the bet to Saddletramp a pound for every person under the previous lowest attendance he'd owe £3328. I'm sure he is an honourable man, perhaps he'll pay up anyway.

I think it's really good that the club have decided to sell back/middle/front seats at away matches (those with 'allocated' seating) - that should solve 99% of the problems, presuming that singers/standers buy tickets at the back (which they will). Unless they buy them online....................... True. But at least the club are making an effort. I suspect the ticketing agency might be less flexible.

If anyone is desperate for a football fix tonight, Solihull Moors vs Southport from the Conference is on the telly (and your favourite dodgy stream provider - probably). That's a couple of lower league clubs playing each other in a proper pyramid match. Just saying.

Due to a surfeit of spuds (we signed up for an organic veg box that seems to consist of little other than potatoes and cabbage of various descriptions - Mrs Zero claims it's good for us, I am thinking of signing up for a pastry box in retaliation) it is likely to be jacket spuds for us as well. Mrs Zero will probably watch Robbie Coltrane in National Treasure tonight, not my kind of thing so I will probably listen to some music and read a bit more of my book.

Jamie Guy, Hutchinson, Lee Jarman, Tim Sills, Grebis all in there. NO BLOODY WAY SHOULD SUPER KEV or Wilsterman be anywhere near this topic... The thing about Jamie Guy is that in pre-season he looked like an absolutely brilliant player. He got a (pretty minor IIRC) injury and was absolute rubbish thereafter. So he certainly rates as one of the most disappointing players of recent(ish) times.

Does anyone know if there is any other parking there or at least close?

I think we are missing a trick at the football.
It will obviously help if, as soon as one of our players takes a shot, we all yell "Get in the goal!".
That should solve our striker problem.
