Not complaining, but just wondering if there is a reason why the parking at The Kassam is free? And...if we owned the ground, could the club in theory start charging for using it. I personally wouldn't begrude paying a couple of quid for a spot if it went to the club. I'd also pay a premium on a parking ST to guarantee a spot behind the East Stand.

Yup, it's stated in the legal agreements for the Stadium and Leisure stuff. Has to be free.

Cheers mate. Guess makes sense as non-football types have equal dibs on the spots for bowling etc.
I like my idea of a guaranteed parking spot behind the East Stand though!

I dont think he can, I think it was stipulated in the land deal that it had to be free, but it was a long time ago so could be wrong

The club will never own the car park even if they do buy the stadium. He has screwed us perfectly by surrounding it with other properties that require parking facilities. It's another revenue stream, albeit pretty small in the grand scheme of things, that is forever cut off from the club.

It's another revenue stream, albeit pretty small in the grand scheme of things, that is forever cut off from the club. Why has he 'screwed us' by building other leisure facilities. Surely without the leisure facilities nobody would have build at stadium Have a go at Kassam when its fair but to suggest he built a whole load of necessary leisure facilities 'to screw us' is pathetic Lets be honest if he could have charged parking he would have done right from the start as indeed would any of us who owned this development

Long may free parking continue. I don't want all those people who are prepared to queue for ages to get out after a match rather than walk five minutes to steal my spot on BBL.

Is that in the same agreement that stated the cinema couldn't show films on Staurday afternoons? Yup, it's stated in the legal agreements for the Stadium and Leisure stuff. Has to be free.
