Hello, Port Vale supporter here in peace... I've put up an article on Perry Deakin on my website. If you want to read it then please click on the link: www.onevalefan.co.uk/pages/oxford-united-give-perry-deakin-job/I could probably spend several weeks listing all the things Mr Deakin has done to Port Vale but the article gives a short summary. I also know that the stadium company is not connected to the club but... ...if I were you, I'd be very concerned if this person is connected in any way at all with my club. After all, he came in as CEO at Port Vale and (despite saying he had no interest in being a director) ended up getting a place on the board (without even paying for his shares). The board he was a key part of then took the club into administration. Rob www.onevalefan.co.ukindependent Port Vale views since 1996

While I have every sympathy with you (and thanks for the warning), as I have commented on your blog, the title 'Oxford United Give Perry Deakin Job' is simply incorrect.
And since you know that the stadium company is not connected to the club, I wonder why you have done that?

I've lost count of the number of Vale fans who've joined over the last two days to give us incorrect information. Once again, DEAKIN DOES NOT WORK FOR OUFC. OUFC HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHO STADCO EMPLOY.

Hi Zerothehero A couple of things: 1. I have changed the title of the article 2. It's not immediately clear to the outsider that the stadium company and the club are not connected. It was a genuine error. Now I am aware I will make that distinction clear in any follow-up articles. But... I'd be less worried about Port Vale fans mistakingly linking the stadium company with your football club than the damage that Mr Deakin could do. He promised to massively increase our stadium revenues yet we ended up in administration. So, even if he's not working directly for the club I would suggest that he could still damage you indirectly. I'm speaking as an outsider here so forgive my lack of knowledge but I presume that a rogue employee causing the stadium company going bust, the stadium subsequently being sold off (possibly for development) and so on would have a negative knock-on effect on the football club wouldn't it? All I am trying to do was warn the wider football world of the damage caused to my club by this person and his associates. p.s. And even our local paper got it wrong. Their current headline is "Fan fury as Deakin lands new job at Oxford United" perhaps you'd like to correct them too

You're still missing the point. OUFC cannot influence who StadCo employ, in whatever role. You can warn us all you like, but OUFC cannot do a trhing about it.

with respect Hoodsy, I think you are missing the point. The issue isn't about the esoteric question of who he works for, but a loud and clear warning that the man is odious and whether employed by Kelvin or Kassam is likely to f*ck with us in some way.
This is not good news for us.

This is not good news for us. I think we've all got the message loud and clear that this man is undesirable. My question to the Vale fan is "what do you expect us to do about it?" What do you think Kassam would say if OUFC challenged his appointment? The issue IS very much that this man is not employed by OUFC, so we can wring our hands all we like to no avail.

Spot on Stokeu. The stadium issue is the probably the biggest facing the club off the field. Any significant changes at StadCo could impact the club and I would consider the hiring of this fella, who would appear to have a *cough* chequered past, as certainly something to keep an eye on. Thanks to our friends at Port Vale for the warning and good to see OxVox all over this like a cheap suit.

Good to see OxVox involved, but let's see how much influence they can exert over Kassam's organisation. Hope I'm wrong. I don't doubt the danger, just don't know how a satisfactory outcome can be arrived at just because we are in possession of the facts about Deakin.

But we have been warned by the attitude of all PV fans that this man should be watched every step of the way. Maybe we cannot influence the appointment but we must keep a finger on the pulse. I for one am very grateful to our PV friends, even though they are not in posession of all the facts behind our stadium setup. Let's not make a big thing out of that lack of info. Thank you PV fans for all the warnings, but we're still coming for 3 points.

I've thanked PV fans on other threads - I'm not making a career of it!

I propose we mobilise the Yellows Forum members immediately. 24 hours surveillance, setting up a wire tap, maybe you can go undercover beyond enemy lines YellowHoods and get a position flippin' burgers at one of the concourse food outlets? I wanna know about every move Deakin makes. We also have the nuclear option in our arsenal - our old friend Ken! He could start numerous campaigns and bombard the enemy with letters to annoy him to the point of resignation.

We'll keep our eyes on this fecker. Actually, have you ever seen Ken and Deakin in the same room together?
