Good spot YR - interesting read.
Does IL ever comment on OUFC in the press? Or does he leave all such talk to KT?

Why would IL comment about a football club in an interview concerning the diferent codes of rugby?
And if he did, is it really a great surprise that George Riley simply ignored any such comments when he wrote up his article?

Oxymoron, I don't think Best Mate's post was suggesting that he should mention OUFC in the rugby article, more just a general question of whether he does OUFC press.
Might be wrong though.

Exactly Hablo.....I just wondered if he ever expressed his interest in us not in that specific article.
Naturally, the National media would not be queuing up to interview him specifically about us but I wondered if he was in the press discussing us......ever!

With the club now back in League Two, he is still looking to acquire the Kassam Stadium.
"I don't want to make promises, but the project is probably at its best place that it's ever been in the last four years," Lenagan said. Really, 8 months on I wonder where we are now??

Well making a profit.....which is very good news thanks to the running of the club.
However - I think a further update would be useful.
If the update is, well, we have made no progress but it is our objective to move forward with it - then at least we know that we have made no progress at this time.
If negotiations are in place - I would not expect too many details to be given - just an update that it is moving forward at this stage etc
Surely Kassam cannot still be demanding £13,000,000? Surely - as year after year goes by, the order value will fall? As depreciation on the stadium kicks in.

You know anyone else keen on buying Oxford? Unless their is an alternative I am more than happy with the situation at the moment. If someone did want to buy the club they would have come forward by now.

As the Oxvox notes state, as of December, IL was 18 months into a 3 year plan to achieve the purchase and I certainly wouldn't expect him to comment on commercially sensitive negotiations at this stage. For financing to be obtainable IL is going to have to demonstrate that OUFC is an acceptable business model to potential lenders (I know from business experience how tough the credit markets are at the moment). These processes are long and drawn out and often come to nothing but we're going to have to be patient on this.

Not in my opinion. Might not be a bad thing to have a disintrested, hands off owner if its teaching us to live within our means. Success can still come to a well run club, maybe just not as fast as those that splash the cash. On the plus side plenty of clubs who are owned by fans screw themselves over financially.

Lenagan (Snr) is in the pictures from yesterday's game. (wearing some tasteless brown gloves). Hopefully the club can start paying back his debt soon so he can get some nice black leather gloves instead.

Surely - as year after year goes by, the order value will fall? As depreciation on the stadium kicks in. Yes it's very nice making a "profit" no matter how large or more the case how small. But, that "profit" and the ensuing praise for IL is off the back of other people/fans putting their hands in their pockets to supply the money to buy or acquire the players that have took this club forward on the pitch, these people/fans supplied the money to get us promotion last season and that has helped the club this season with the larger crowds and income. If IL had asked Firoz to reduce the rent or arranged ways of reducing our liabilities, then great praise the man, but he has done nothing as a club owner to instil confidence in me that he has the gumption to take this club forward off his own back. In my opinion IL can't take this club forward, the way he's doing things now.
