Having just seen the MOTM poll on the Oxford Mail Website, it is a fight between Worley and Hall for the Man of the Match award from Saturday.
You can understand Hall getting votes as he bagged two goals but Harry Worley was outstanding. It is the best performance I have seen from him. He won everything, even when Morecambe subjected us to first half pressure. In the second half he did more of the same, even clearing the penalty, his distribution was impressive (I normally have a moan about that part of his game) even finding himself as the sole striker when Hackney went off down the wing.
Excellent performance, stood out head and shoulders above his team-mates. Well done Harry.

The lad is pure class at this level. Another great signing from CW.

And to think supporters of some of his previous clubs laughed when we signed him. If they were to see him now, I wonder what they would make of him...

He made it into the League 2 team of the Week along with Clarke

Wright is a bit more cultured as a centre back but in terms of their worth to the side I really do not think there is anything in it. Worley has caught Wright up and is now as crucial a player to this side as Wright.
Two cracking centre backs whichever way you look at it.

Worley was immense both at Stevenage and Morecambe. Has all the attributes to be a top class centre half and will improve with age. Some doubted the exits of Day, Franks and Creighton - not me.
Whilst reading the Morecambe programme I read an article about Morecambe's reserves beating Bury's second string last week which contained a certain Benjamin Futcher.
A shudder went down my spine.

Looks like Futcher is at his natural level! He sent shudders down my spine as well. What was CW thinking when he signed him?

To be fair he needed back up when Creighton left and he rang his old pal Alan Knill. Mr Knill obviously didn't warn Wilder against Futcher and trusted his judgement. Knill won't be getting a christmas card this year

If that is what happens when he rings his "old pals" then god help us if he ever has to ring a Manager he doesn't like!!

Knill won't be getting a christmas card this year CW was the assistant at Bury for 6 months so he knew full well what he was getting with Futcher. He wasn't exactly great but at the same time I'm not sure I remember him being directly at fault for any goals during his time here. As for Worley, he's improving game by game lately. He turns 23 in November so this is the year that he really needs to make his mark and start turning potential into consistency. If he carries on the way he's been playing over the last month or so then he's got a very bright future.

Was chatting to a mate about Worley the other day and we both agreed the biggest worry about him is how long will we be able to keep him? Been outstanding in the last month or two and is turning into a real rock at the back, him and Wright seem to be getting an understanding with each other now they are playing together for a decent spell.

Since CW signed Worley he is one of my biggest fans, I've been very impressed with him. What if we get promoted? What will happen to the likes of Wright, Batt, Worley and Tonks?

We'll definitely be keeping Batt, Wright and Worley if we get promoted! I imagine we'll keep Tonks too, but I think he'll be moving on within a couple of seasons (although at this level that's a pretty decent career for any given club).

Would like to see us build around Wright and Worley, if you look at most succesfull teams a strong center back pairing is a big part of it. Given their ages they could play together for us for a good amount of time.

See no reason why Batt, Wright & Worley couldn't progress with us, although Batt's positioning could get better (they could all improve of course). Not so sure about Tonkin but he's been doing well of late.
Long may it last; it's not so long ago Matt Day was playing in defence, and Burgess at full back.

Really like Worley, and he is only going to get better. Didn't go to Morecambe on saturday unfortunately, but apparently he was outstanding from what I have heard... Top class!
Long may it continue!

Yes, proof that if you give young talent a chance and add some hard work, success is possible.
