midson................... One hatrick doesn't change the fact that he is the fourth best forward at the club, and therefore won't get enough games. He has games where he looks decent but since the Torquay game he didn't do a lot in the 2 games he started.

would have thought Craddock was nailed on for top scorer if he carries on in this vein of form

Both players are on 10 goals now.
Constable: 8 league, 2 cup
Craddock: 10 league
Craddock also had a couple for Luton before he arrived on deadline day.

Craddock is the one in form but when JC starts banging them in that could well change Yeh one run of form from Beano could change them stats completely, hopeful though when that eventually happens Craddock will continue to score which can only be good for the team.

It is unthinkable as far as I'm concerned that Beano is to be ousted as top scorer. But at the end of the day, as long as someone gets 25+ for the season we will be in with a shout.

Midson has got 7 or 8 though so he will be up there. Reckon Craddock will be though, he just pops up at the right moment in matches and scores.

Craddock, but so long as Beano gets a few more starts than he has been, he'll be giving some serious competition.

Craddock and Beano will be fairly even at the top i imagine.
I would expect Craddock to knock in a couple more than Beano, but at the end of the day if two players get 20ish and two others can put 10-15 away then we'll be right up there.

Don't mind so long as SOMEONE keeps banging them in!! What is good is that both Craddock and Beano have a number of assists to their name as well.

I thought Mclean is highly rated on this forum, are we not expecting him to score a few? If he is as good as claimed maybe he should start knocking the chances in we create enough.

At the moment he looks more the creative forward rather than the main strike force (though he will definitely weigh in with his fair share of goals this season).

Look at the number of assists Maclean has, and the number of attacks/chances he is responsible for. That's why he's as good as claimed. It's hardly a coincidence that since Maclean came in we've been scoring pretty much 2 every match.

Look at how many chances we miss. He should start scoring, this is why he was signed. We missed lots of chances before he came.We do not want him to create more chances to miss we need a striker to put them in the net.

Look at how many more chances we've scored since he came in. Do you really not think there's a connection? Judging by the way he plays he clearly wasn't signed to put away the chances, how often is he the one on the receiving end of a devious ball into the box? Almost never. Why? Because he provides the devious balls. Are we really not scoring enough for you? 2 a game is a pretty damn good record. Surely it's our defence that's the problem, you cant expect us to come away from most games having put 3 goals away!

the more chances we create the higher the chance of us scoring

Yes we do to win .He needs to score a few. He has played as the targetman and played off the target man,I do agree the defence is poor.He has plyed at a higher level he needs to score.

Yes we do to win .He needs to score a few. He has played as the targetman and played off the target man,I do agree the defence is poor.He has plyed at a higher level he needs to score. Okay, I'll try and pick this apart. Point 1 - We do to win. No we don't. How many teams come away with 3 or more goals consistently? 1 or 2 in every league? Look at our lack of goals from midfield if you think we should be one of them for whatever reason, we have two strikers at any given time who are scoring goals. You don't need more than that. Point 2 - He has played as the target man and off the target man. Yes, he has. And? When he plays as the target man, he lays the ball off to other players and brings them into play brilliantly. Hence our increased goalscoring record. When he doesn't, we lose serious creativity up front - see Southend, Northampton. So it's pretty clear that when he plays as a target man, he creates crucial chances and we score goals. Point 3 - He has played at a higher level, he needs to score. Maclaren has played at a higher level, does he need to score? Does Wright? Tonkin? Payne? He's a different kind of player, goalscoring is more or less irrelevant, and he's still got us 2 vital goals.
