This guy is a fantastic shot stopper, but I believe there are two elements to his game that have held him back and continue to do so...
1. His speed off the line. When a long hopeful ball is punted over the top he is more often than not very slow to come off his line. He was caught out by Le Fondre on saturday and in a game nearer to Sheffield he would probably have had a penalty against him...not to mention a sending off. This is something he had big problems with last season as the oppo often only had this in mind. We've not seen it so much this term because teams look to carve you open rather hump it forward.
2. Crosses. Put simply he drops or misses too many.
On balance, however, the saves he has pulled off still make him a top choice for this division. I would worry though about the next step up and the added pressure this would bring.
He still needs to work at these elements of his game. I'm sure he will.

The points you raise are certainly valid, but if he didn't have these faults he actually would be England's Number 1!!! All keepers at this level have flaws.

I highly doubt he'll struggle to make the step up, there's been no keepers at the very least significantly better than him in this league and I highly doubt there's that much of a quality jump up. Be nice to see him work on keeping hold of the ball, I have no problem with him punching it, but when he does try to catch, then he seems to hit a problem area. Keepers improve well into their 30s sometimes, so I hope this is an area he can work on and I think there's a championship keeper in him, but for a few faults like this.
