When we need more than 12500 I am sure there will a need for it but until there is surely more pressing issues
If you had 2 kids and lived in a 2 bedroom house with a bathroom. While it may be really nice to have 8 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms its not really essential, we have sold the ground out 2/3 times in 10 years so a bit of work to be done before we need it

Even if we bought the ground, we still would need money for the 4th stand

Even if we bought the ground, we still would need money for the 4th stand There would be a sponsor waiting to build it and have it named after them in return. That wouldn't be an issue.

Its a bit different at MK Dons though isn't it? The stand is already built and it is only the seats that need fitting on the top tier.
I think the reason for finishing it must be more to do with rugby than football. The capacity is already 22,000 and their biggest crowd this season has been less than half that amount. Last season they attracted under 13,000 for the League One play off final! However, over 21,000 rugby fans attended when Northampton played Ulster in the Quarter Final of the Heineken cup and they have stated that they may use it for important games in the future due to limited capacity at the Northampton rugby ground.

Going there next year for the Saints v Munster match.

I grudgingly accept that the stadium looks a bit silly, but there's little point in having a fourth stand. I happily accept we can't build a fourth stand on someone elses stadium. I just have a thing for accurate metaphors.
