When asked about his ambitions he says he wants to firstly take Oxford as far as he can, and secondly manage at the highest level possible. He clearly feels that these two things are mutually exclusive.
I know he's being realistic, but I'm a bit of a dreamer myself and I feel it's a shame that he's said this.

I interpreted that as achieving both ambitions with OUFC so no shame in that.

I wouldn't read too much into that. CW is a man who sometimes fails to consider what he is going to say before saying it and, i think, doesn't realise the extent to which his every word will be over-analysed on here.

Wilder is ambitious. I think he is half way to getting a Championship job to be honest. If he takes us up one more time to league 1 he will be very hot property, and thats just fine with me. He may feel league 1 is as far as he can take us, or wants to take us.
People should stop worrying!!!...for Wilder to achieve his targets it essentially means more success at OUFC! Happy days.

And seeing that we finally used the inteview method so successfully we have to trust that we will be left in good hands after he leaves.

I interpreted that as achieving both ambitions with OUFC so no shame in that. but could he cope with being England manager on the side whilst still managing Oxford in the Premier League?

Obviously not, but it depends on what he considers to be the highest level. The PL or at International level!
