What is it with us and corners? Is Andy Melville coaching zonal marking? It may work in the Prem but if that's what we're trying to do then it don't work at this level.
How many points has conceding from set pieces cost us?
Shotton for defensive coach.

I hate being critical but last night really started to p**s me off regarding how poor we are at set pieces, particularly defending them. Southend started to put the pressure on towards the end of the first half and get a few corners and you just knew they'd score from one of them. I just hope someone in the media asks CW what he thinks the problem is and what the coaching staff are doing to address the problem. Far too many goals given away in this manner and at this rate it might well be the difference between play-offs or mid-table.

Perhaps we need to call in Keown the Gooner - he lives locally?

just a thought and many of you will disagree but...
why dont we leave more people up on the half way line like 3 players? we used to do this with the likes of hackett
this means that the opporsition need to leave more players back to cope with our three up front. This then leaves more space in the box for clarkey to recieve the cross or for one of our players to get it away or for it to run all the way through
just a thought...

That's an interesting idea. The problem is that Clarke isn't exactly brimming with confidence at the moment and is more reluctant to come out for crosses, and when he does, he tends to punch. This doesn't give us much of a chance to get the ball up the field. I do wonder whether crowding the box is more of a problem than a hindrance, though, and whether it might help anyway.

It may also help clarke to catch the ball with more time and less people challenging him
