RIGHT - LISTEN GUYS . The best teams in the world are build on defence. Liverpool of the 80's, Arsenal of the 90's, Man Utd now............... . We have to address our current situation in our back four............. . And this is how we should do it......................... . 5 across the back (home and away) Batt ---- Worley ----- Sangare ------ Tonkin ----------------- Wright-------------------- 3 in midfield Heslop --------- McLaren ---------- Clist The play maker ---------------- MacLean---------------- And the striker ----------------Craddock--------------- . The bench to have the options of closing a game out, or going for it if we need a goal......................................... Wright to patrol and control the back 4, bring the ball out into midfield, use the wings with Batt & Tonkin, MacLean to Pull the strings, Craddock to finish it off, McLaren to hold everything together in a responsible manner................

We have been on a good run, no need to change it

I don't think we need a new formation at home because we are given the space to play football and we are very good when we can do that. At away games teams like tonight give us no time on the ball and we can't pass it around like we want to. Maybe instead of a 4-3-3 where we have our 3 strikers, we should play a 4-5-1 in which we have two wingers (alfie and hackney). This will tighten us up a bit but still allow us to bomb forward. And if it's not working go back to 4-3-3 during the game which they won't be expecting?

I'd rather lose an arm than see some sort of 5-3-1-1 frankenstein formation.
Having five at the back can't stop poor marking from set pieces and individual errors, which are the root of 90% of goals conceded nowadays.
A lot of the problem could be psychological at present. You'll probably find that once one clean sheet is in the bag more will follow.

The only positive should be that individual errors and set pieces should be easier to cut out than lack of positioning, technical ability etc. Earn your money Wilder and co!

I am loving watching a team that tries to play attractive flowing attacking football. There is no way we should change our shape! individual errors and set pieces are to blame, NOT the formation.

That team is so weak. Heslop, Clist, Mclean, Craddock couldn't tackle a paper bag between them, then consider their aerial threat we would get bullied every week. As proved last night Beano must start, his power etc give the opposition something to worry about, we are better as a team on the front foot than sitting back and trying to defend all the time.

We seemed better with ten men last night than 11. Towards the end of the game, we even looked dangerous from corners.

As has been said, most of the goals come from individual errors. Unfortunately unless there is a considerable improvement by individials the only way to improve that is to change the players for better ones. Too late for that this season, so this must be the priority for next season.

I think we should sign Rene Higuita. He'd add an extra man to the defence.
