Payback time -hopefully, for the defeat we suffered (And boy did we suffer) one month ago today.
No doubt once again our lads will be looking for three points and i have a sneaking feeling they will succeed. Any win will be great of course -but if If we could keep a clean sheet it would be ideal.

Feeling very optimistic about tonight. 0-2 Hall and Beano and a clean sheet.
But I always am optimistic. Honest.

I think we can win this one, Southend tend to better away from home. Saying that though they do have some very good players like Grant, they're a better side when he plays and they have a young defender who is meant to be awesome. I'd take a draw.

I'd normally take apoint from this tpe of game. But with Gillingham And Rotherham coming up i think we might need all 3 to keep us in the hunt.
That said my prediction: 2-2 Maclean and Craddock

I think the goals will go in tonight. I'm going for either a 2-2 draw or a 2-3 win. Craddock, & Beano with two.

Moshni is the player to watch. Expect Oxford to attack more than a month ago. Southend were poor that day but it was easy.

Surely (touch wood) we can't be as bad tonight as we were in the home game which was by a mile our worse performance of the season.

1st of 7 away games in the next 9. Be good to win to get the confidence up for the run of away games we've got coming thick and fast.
Southend 1 Oxford 2
The players won't need motivation after the way they all played against Southend at our place. They'll have something to prove.
Wish I was there. Bizarrely, Southend's one of my favourite away days.

As Oxford prepare to take on Southend at Roots Hall, Chris Wilder has made one change to the side that drewn 1-1 with Cheltenham on Saturday.
Simon Heslop returns to the midfield in place of Simon Clist, who drops to the bench. Also on the bench is new signing Simon Hackney, who returns to Essex just the day after joining United from Colchester.
