It didnt work out here when he finally got the big job but Patto was a decent guy who signed Beano after all and lost out on the 11th hour with Jordan Rhodes.
I hope it works out for him and Scott, just not when they play us!

Predict these two will be on their bikes by Christmas.
Scott lost it big time at Brentford.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Patto develop into a decent manager.

Actually I think Patto could be a good number 2 and he might well be a good balancing act for Scott.
Know quite a few Brentford fans and apparently Scott is quite an arrogant person. Got to the stage where the Brentford players didn't want to play for him and it culminated with the team refusing to get off the coach (at Dagemham away) and the game kicked off late. They only got off the coach when a director came to speak to them and a week later he was gone.
I hope Patto does well. Nice bloke who may be a better coach than manager.

I was at the Dagenham away match that cold Tuesday evening. It did not kick off late. There was no issue getting players off the coach. Basically when Brentford went behind, they lost it and Scotty had lost the ability to get through to them - they just weren't responding. It's a tight ground there and I was about 4 ft away from Scotty and sat next to the BFC directors. It was clear to all that he had lost the team and he had to go, as that result was very poor as was the performance, against a side that was considered dead cert relegation material when the game was played. He had also alienated the fans with his 'them against us' comments, so his days were numbered, and with that result following several poor other displays he had to go. True he had developed a reputation for being arrogant, but I personally wish him well. Same with Patto.

Just spoke to one of my Bees mates about that game.
He said that a number of players had a shortened warm up because there was an issue on the coach. Apparently one of the issues was that Scott would promise the world to players who he wanted to sign, once signed if they had a bad spell they were totally frozen out - so he ended up with a load of players on 2 or 3 year contracts not playing.
Got no axe to grind with Scott, actually think he was under-rated by most U's fans - his problem for us was that most of the goals he scored were in away games..so a lot of fans didn't appreciate him.
