Yes, I think he would have based on his management record at his previous clubs and what he had already achieved at Wigan with limited resources compared to other PL clubs. He is the person who inspired Ian Holloway to get Balckpool playing as they have. For me, he would be a very good appointment for Villa, his teams try to play entertaining football and he can spot/utilise good players as well that don't cost a fortune. With greater resources, a youth system that produces players for the 1st team and greater prestige he should be able to attract better players again so could be the one to turn Villa around, if given time. Certainly a better choice than Rafa Benitez, imo.

Of course it can!
The game that changed my life was the first OUFC game I watched, back when we were in the Southern League. Never been the same since.
