What is his role and what is he officially allowed to do ?
I ask because the 4th official at the skip yesterday sent off a Barnet player.
Well he actually called the ref over and described an elbow,which got the player sent off.
But the ref never saw it,(play continued) the linesman never saw it,it was only when the 4th official reacted did play stop and the ref come over.
So in effect the 4th official sent the player off.

Nothing new...the fourth official got Zidane sent off in the WC final.
