Are the fixtures still done by hand?
Tuesday night fixtures and Dover had to travel to Halifax (556.6 mile round trip), Maidenhead to Flyde (441.6), Chester to Hartlepool (325.8), Barrow to Solihull (379.4), Boreham Wood to Torquay (455.4), Gateshead to Wrexham (386.2).
Do the league not take into account the fans or the teams that aren't full time and have to fork out the expense to make these long journeys for a mid week game? Dover fans would of had at a minimum a 5 hour journey to watch their team on a Tuesday night meaning they will get home at 3am tomorrow morning.
To add to this Chester have to play Orient away on a tuesday night and Dover are away to Macclesfield on a Friday night!
It seems common sense is still lacking amongst the conference big wigs.

While agreeing with your post to a point. The Conference play so many midweek games that long distance travel is inevitable at some point. The Dover game was ridiculous, but Barrow,Fylde,Torquay and Gateshead will play midweek games this season further afield than they did last night. I'm also pretty sure that in the PL and FL distance is not an issue when the fixtures are arranged. Fulham had a 412 mile round trip last night,Wilders mob 400. P.S. What is a local game for Torquay,Solihull ?

This is already the second midweek round of fixtures in the conference, we are halfway into August.
I see Sutton are second with their plastic pitch, and two other clubs have them as well. With the play offs extended their is a chance that one of those teams makes it in, I wonder what the FL will do in that case?
