Does this mean that nice man Juan Sartori can be our chairman now?

I think one of the questions its raising is Learndirect sponsoring Marussia who I believe Eales was involved in too.
Lloyds isn't owned by the government anymore but was then.

Black n Rounds sponsored OUFC and Daryll is a director of both .

It's pretty uncomfortable reading for LDC and Eales, but I'd guess Eales would say he hasn't been involved for a number of years. As Fred Goodwin hasn't been thrown out as a chartered accountant, I doubt Eales has too much to worry about, though the thought of a parliamentary inquiry wouldn't be nice.

My hot take:
No-one who makes the sort of money that Eales has at his disposal does it 100% ethically. Ka$$am didn't (how he made his initial money is well documented), WPL didn't (remember the links with mining companies in Guinea?) and Eales probably hasn't either. Now, I don't have a problem with that per se; it's their money, not mine, and they have their own consciences to live with.
What DOES concern me is that if Eales was prepared to shaft LearnDirect etc for his own ends when it suited him, it's not inconceivable that he'd be prepared to shaft OUFC when it suited him. And given how reliant we are on his backing, that's not a great position to be in.

The only bit that worries me is the similarities with loading debt onto one business while taking the good bits into the holding company. Be good to see what the explanation for porting the debt that il wrote off over to ensco

There is a story on the front page and page 3 involving Darryl Eales and LDC. I'm not a corporate financing expert, but I'm sure others can explain what's happened here. Page 3: Your post title is very misleading, Eales isn't on the front page of the FT.

Think this was Tuesday's paper being talked about. Nope, still no mention of Eales on the front page: Straws at clutching - rearrange. Does it matter. Our chairman is involved in some way in three businesses that are in an article in National news papers. And could be facing going in front of a parliamentary committee to answer serious questions. But ur probably right, let's not talk about it again, as there is no evidence. No ones saying he's done anything wrong (well some might be implying it) but it's a fairly important story wouldn't u say

Nope, still no mention of Eales on the front page: Oh there it is a f*cking massive near full page story about it, but it doesn't mention his name on the cover so that's ok then The title is misleading. Just another example of the anti-Eales mob trying to discredit the best owner we've had in a long while. LDC invested in Learndirect under Eales' management and they made a huge profit. Job done. That was Eales job and he was successful at it and will be successful here because he's an extremely competent individual.

But then if u have nothing to hide why try and get a court injunction, and be possibly facing a parliamentary committee. I don't think it's the Ldc part that is troubling, it's the moving the money into a holding company (that he was also involved in). And using other money to sponsor another business that seems to be the issue. Again there might be an anti eales mob, but I think things like this are certainly worth discussing. As like with the Solihull rumours, if nothing else it can come out and prove that mob to be totally wrong and make them look silly rather than Darryl On the other hand , at the time Robert maxwell was a extremely successful individual and probably the best chairman we had ever had, leading the club to success on the pitch. It was only after we found out that he nicked most of the transfer revenue from Aldo and deano, robbed a load of old grannies and tried to merge us with another club 😉

(null) Quite possibly it's the involvement of the holding company that worries me, and the diverting of a lot of funds into it. As that's exactly what ensco are doing with us. Again might be totally innocent, but having already been to judicial review I guess there are some serious concerns, doesn't mean Darryl is directly involved . Just THere are 4 companies involved . The holding company, marussia, ldc and learn direct. Darryl is involved in all 4.

Oufcyellows do you sleep with a loaded gun under the pillow? You seem to implicate every person with a potential or real financial link with the club with some potential wrong doing . I don't think Eales is trying to rip the club off, nor was Sartori , Donald , et al. Somewhere people may have a plan to sell on at a profit, but that's their prerogative.
If you had any knowledge of the internet you could read through all of the accounts and filings of various companies and add it all together. Rather than what seems to be random shots fired across the bows.
When do the school holidays finish ?

Where have I ever mentioned Juan, Stewart or anyone is trying to rip the club off. In fact I was one of the ones on here defending Darryl at the start, when the majority were calling him an asset stripping venture capitalist and telling everyone to back the methven bid ! I'm interested because it's my team and owner. And have said it can work both ways, if there are people with an agenda and like the Solihull thing it turns out that Darryl is totally in the right, it comes back on them not him. And shows him in a good light. As for when do the school holidays finish? Isn't that exactly the sort of comment u have moaned at charlie for making. You yourself say at the start of the thread that it must be pretty uncomfortable reading for Darryl . If it's all fine feel free to help explain I hope it is. Like I said I don't know how these things work in fine detail, so I ask questions on here, rather than trawling google and not understanding a word of it. Maybe u could explain it all more clearly. My only concern is for my team, Darryl has helped deliver some great times, I want that to continue. Stories like this worry me, probably totally unnecessarily.

As you so wisely say, read through all the accounts and add it all together. I rather think that is what the FT have done in their reporting. It appears that a very large sum of money was extracted from a mainly tax payer funded concern and paid to the directors of that concern. One of whom was a certain D.Eales. If that does not warrant interest from those wishing to see the future of our club secure in the hands of a trustworthy custodian, what does? You have also failed to read and understand previous posts relating to Sartori, Donald, et al. (sic) I recommend you return to the subject when you have and are then in a position of knowledge with which to formulate a proper riposte.
