Ben Purkiss has a law degree. I think he also might be a qualified solicitor. Does anyone else remember a centre half who played for us a few times in the late 70's? Called Ian Stott. I think he played as an amateur, and was an accountant. Or is this false memory syndrome?! Purkiss also plays the shite who play in red now so I hope he gets struck off or whatever happens to solicitors.

"Keep him away from the accounts, for god's sake".

I believe his was a civil servant, probably an Executive Officer at the time. Do such roles and positions still exist?

While he isn't getting much game time would it be wise to get him out on loan to a conference side for the year especially with Pekalski still to come back it pushes him either further down the pecking order.

Disagree he will be learning a lot from Pep currently and the games in the league trophy will be sufficient at this stage for him. Loaning him to non league would in my opinion hamper his development. Don't forget he is a Spanish player who wants to pass the ball around and you want him to go to a league where the ball is in the air most of the time.

Not sure that Conference football would do Xemi a lot of good.

Maybe in January if we have Pekalski back and fit then a month or 2 loan for Xemi would be a decent idea, for now though I think he'll get some game time for us so worth keeping him about and training with a better quality of player
