The communication coming out of the club is atrocious. No marketing, no PR, no liasing with fans. Very little replying to Tweets which is a key way of businesses communicating with customers these days. Not replying to tweets is the modern equivalent of ignoring phone calls and letters etc. Who the club captain is matters to the fans so there should've been a good news story about it. Even just a picture of Pep shaking hands with Nelson at the training ground and a brief article about it would've sufficed and pleased fans. Looking at the team photos it's also clear that no one has even bothered to update the pictures. All bar this seasons signings wearing last season kit and the new guys have not even been posed to match the rest of their colleagues. It can't be that difficult to get a decent set of pictures sorted? Rob Hall's instagram story shows video of the club photos being taken today.

Let's face it, with some of the statements that came out you would be hard pushed to write anything worse. This has the hallmarks of someone at last sitting down and thinking before writing, and then checking it twice! You're right in what you say. My point was more, they try to make things sound better that it needs too be. Just call it an undisclosed fee, no need for attractive. The same as, 'we hope to have a top six budget', knowing full well that would excite the fans and probably sell more tickets. When they would/should have known they probably wouldn't have a top six budget. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if it actually looked as though we were building a top six squad. Just call things as it is, at least we then all know where we stand. Again, I really hope this comes back to bite me on the arse and I'm proved totally wrong over the next few weeks! I fear you are more than probably right. This whole budget thing is a pain and totally misleading. The accounts show a huge deficit and my fear is that any incoming funds are simply leeching away into the companies that effectively own the club. Prove us wrong DE, please.

The new kit has been available since before the end of last season! But, maybe you are right, the shop needs new pictures as well. Maybe they are waiting until the transfer activity is all done.......

I wonder if we have asked for a player in return!? Matt Done is on the transfer list there and is a decent winger/striker at this level. He is apparently due to sign for Rochdale but still no confirmation of that deal going through. That's the kind of quality we should be looking at.

No story, no ceremony, no attempt to break good news... I know some people will get annoyed at me getting annoyed, but having Nelson as skipper is absolutely brilliant news. Announce it in the Lunny story to put a smile on peoples' face. Or just slap a banner on his picture and move on... To be fair the Pep 'quote' was pretty good. A 'Welcome to new captain Nelson - a player who proved his quality last term has earned the armband and, with his commitment and poise, we are sure he'll do an excellent job leading the lads on the field' story on the same would have been far too much to expect. A 50% hit rate is a creditable improvement in the circs. In my view he's the best man to replace Lundstram - good luck to them both.

Lot's of money brought in over the last month or so then - looking forward to the surely inevitable flurry of transfer activity to come. Don't forget last years cup runs, Wembley, Appletons compensation deal, Lundstrum's fee, Sercombe's fee, S/T price hike.

Don't forget last years cup runs, Wembley, Appletons compensation deal, Lundstrum's fee, Sercombe's fee, S/T price hike. Season ticket increases were to bring us more in line with the rest of the league. Apparently. There would only be additional funds added to the playing budget if season ticket revenue was more than the previous year. As things stand, I believe that's £0 as they are quite a bit lower than last year (as per Colin's last count). No way of knowing for sure because the clubs communication re: season ticket sales has been poor. I'm being kind, it has been shit.

Who's the next fucker to leave our club? Appleton, Lunny, Dunks, Scarface Joe and McAlenny (whatever). I'm a nervous f*cking wreck here, in Amersham! I just hope bird-beak Obika isn't mentally unstable, after having to play for the scum! Two players just joined us after not having played since Noah's Ark sank doesn't exactly fill me with Cuddy confidence, either! Hooray Henry from Wolves sounds OK, I suppose. And who's that geezer from Glasgow Buckfast? How do you pronounce his bloody name? We've got a few quid lying around to do some transfer business; did I read that properly? What's the betting that the next one that comes here will have a massive great hernia, or fractured bloody clavicle, or displaced frigging coccyx? If he's got a speech impediment, cauliflower ears or a square-shaped head, I don't give a bloody cow's fanny - just get someone who can score goals, or at least can stop other fuckers scoring against us!

Good luck to him. He didn't come with a big time charlie attitude and didn't leave with one. More proof that the club can develop talented young players and give them the chance to showcase their talent. Sad we've lost him, but... Life goes on.
Agree with this as well

I think the point from a few is that they remember all to well the period from 98-2010 and don't wanna go back there

I do not want to go back there. It's not nice losing players, but by god when you consider some of the players we signed in that period and the manager we had, by god today is peachy in comparison. Far too many knees jerking.

Hearing the "attractive fee" was around £400k + add ons.
Matt Done won't solve your striker problems - a great work rate but the phrase headless chicken springs to mind. He wouldn't score enough for you lot.

I think the point from a few is that they remember all to well the period from 98-2010 and don't wanna go back there The big problem was the selling off of the best players and not replacing them before 98-2010 which lead to the shit times.

Jeez, you northern folk don't actually believe what's written in the local rag!! To be honest, generally no - the Sheffield Star is up there with the very worst local rags. Happy to be proven wrong if you can show a different confirmed amount that hasn't come from a wannabe ITKer.

Happy to be proven wrong if you can show a different confirmed amount that hasn't come from a wannabe ITKer. So there's the conundrum, a not very trustworthy local rag or a wannabe ITKer. As an undisclosed fee, there will be figured floating about both ends that won't of come from an official source, but will become FACT
