How about
Nigel Adkins - has had success with Reading and Southampton Ryan Giggs - Would have good contacts Alan Pardew - Could we tempt him McDonald - Former Reading and Leeds?

Pardew has got to be a non starter. surely he would command a wage far in excess of mapps supposed wedge at Leicester?

What I don't understand is that Darryl Eales said in the Oxford Mail this morning 'he doesn't want to harm another football club' (by taking their manager!). But the poll at the top of this thread says you want to employ Alan Archibald of Partick Thistle. That's because Eales is lying AGAIN and can't be trusted!!! FACT.

I don't get this thing with JFH. He took over at Burton with Gary Rowetts team. Won the league with Rowetts team, moved on to QPR, struggled there because he had to build his own team, then got sacked! Don't get me wrong, if he gets it, I hope he succeeds, but looking at things right now realistically he doesn't have a good record. For me Alan Archibald or David Unsworth. Agree with absolutely everything you say about JFH Then you go and spoil it all by touting Unsworth. Surely Unsworth is tarred with the same brush as JFH. Worse in fact. You want a guy to be our manager who has never actually been a manager? How the hell does that work?

Unsworth has managed youth teams right upto under 23 level and had brought through the likes of Jonjoe Kenny, lundstrum, Ledson, macaleny, plus the youngsters who have broken through to Evertons first team. Unsworth has the same history as MApp, apart from 70 games managing 3 different clubs!! 😁

Unsworths links with the club could be massively fruitful for the club. As suggested in the other managerial thread, again Unsworth would have the respect of the players, having been a top class professional himself.

Frank Lamprds names doing the rounds after TalkSport and other sources believe hes interested in a job in England atm.
I'd like Alex Neil of Norwich (formerly) but that may be a hard acquisition

Lampard would be my choice. Young hungry, wealth of contacts, put the media spotlight on us. Could utilise old arry for tips and still an awesome player.

I cant find him anywhere on the betting list. I see 2 people have voted for Alan Stubbs. He has had 1 go at management in England,Rotherham,he won 1 game out of 14,lost all 7 away games and in those 14 games Rotherham conceded 37 goals, the worst in the entire football league. Could either of those voters give me a reason why he would be good for Oxford ?

Wonder if some of the young names like Giggs, Lampard, Terry and even Gary Neville, who are all keen to manage, might get together and offer themselves as a package. Reduces their risk of taking a first job and not making it work. All 4 of them go to a club, inject some cash to the playing budget, and all coach the players. Would be a huge draw for any young player to come to us and also bring a lot of media attention. They could also draw on a lot of top managers experience at any time - We might even have Alex Ferguson, watching the game on the new Yellow Player subscription from his flat in Monaco, whiskey in hand, frantically typing his half time tactical changes into messenger. Lets hope DE has got some imagination and we can retain/attract players, motivate fans and media, and get us back to the "feel good"

No player's girlfriend of wife would be safe!

The same then. No difference except u and others can claim its abuse and an agenda against one, but totally acceptable to make the same comments against others. Same as with the finances, staff shortages and poor pr , if it was firoz, everyone would be screaming blue murder yet it can't be said against Darryl as he's a bloody nice guy that has achieved success in the past

I think that Stubbs planted a lot of those seeds....
