Note that Jonjoe is there plus a whole load of other Everton players. He's had a great tournament. He got his experience with OUFC!

Note that Jonjoe is there plus a whole load of other Everton players. I think that he is their Captain. He deserves to be starting games. I doubt very much if he will be first choice next season again. I wonder if he could go on loan to a Championship side?

Wasn't captain today but certainly had a very good game.
Looked a lot more dangerous attacking than I remembered. Really has bulked up as well.
If we could get him back he'd be one hell of s signing.

How many of those players will not see a first team for the next 2 years?

How many of those players will not see a first team for the next 2 years? Sadly some will end up playing in the abomination trophy. Not the premier league's fault though.

Nope, but they could get them near their own first team, rather than the U23 one.

Kenny should start the season for Everton with Coleman being injured. Guess it'll be down to him to prove his worth and hold his spot.

Looking forward to seeing how our U20's fare in the U20 World cup final tomorrow, and hoping they give a good account of themselves. The experience will help them in their future matches for Club and Country.
Venezuela have surprised a few people getting this far, (so have England?) and are top scorers in this competition.

Fantastic achievement from the lads. Really enjoyable game, too.
The use of video technology proved that it could be implemented into the game at key moments. It took just over 30 seconds to confirm the penalty decision.

Where as JJK as well as his England performances captained Everton u21s to the league title and was said to have impress all at Goodsion.

Well done England on winning the U20 world cup, we have also been successful in all groups up to the full squad.
Now with this England success in bringing these young players through, is that a vindication of the checka trade trophy or is their success despite that competition as these young players have improved over previous seasons.
We also won the veteran world cup.

It would be interesting to see a break-down of the full squad in terms of those that were out on loan playing first team games for lower league sides, compared to those whose game time was purely in U23 teams (Checkatrade + Premier League II or whatever the league is called).

Why do England always look so knackered? In the second half onwards Germany hammered us and we had no energy at all.
I may be wrong but I can't believe that many of the England players over played last season.

I think they were just outclassed rather than outrun.

An uninspiring performance from in parts, a lacklustre team outside of Abraham, JWP and Pickford to name 3. What a difference to the year group under. Some of it is coaching - MAPP will have done a better job than Boothroyd has done.

I think they were just outclassed rather than outrun. Maybe a bit of both. I was just conscious in the second half that the players just seemed dead on their feet. There was no chasing, centre midfield suddenly had gaping holes (with nobody tracking back) and there was no doubling up on the wide men. Seeing the pressing game that some teams do these days , there seemed to be none.

The Under 19's won the Euros as well.
A really encouraging summer for English sides. Let's hope that some of the youngsters from the U19's, U20's and U21's get some game time next season.

Sadly, I don't see many of those players getting a sniff of a game for their clubs. I'm glad Ryan Sessegnon stayed at Fulham because he will get more games and experience than playing in another U23 game that doesn't matter.

Sessegnon is better than most premier league left backs already from what I have seen, he will be in the top flight by next season anyway but another season in the championship won't hurt him. The boy is class though, best young English player by a distance.

Agree. The lad just looks a prime talent that I hope isn't pushed too early in his career like Rooney was. If he moves, it should be to a club that will get him involved and develop him. No use going to the likes of Man U and Chelsea
