Watched the Crystal Palace Burnley game yesterday,Burnley scored a "goal" the player controlled it with his arm,but the Ref was in an impossible position to see it,he looks at his assistant who stands motionless,Burnley players celebrate, then a good 10 seconds later, the ref disallows it. I'm certain hes had a word in his ear.

Yes I agree that is what probably happened. A good thing I reckon. The more that the big decisions are correct the better.

He was speaking to his assistant. Believe refs can say to their assistants to only flag for throws and offside and to buzz them for anything else. It's like with the extra two officials in Euro games, they get criticised for not doing anything, but they have the same buzzer and mic system and let the ref know that way.

Are they not also wired up to the 4th official?

There was that documentary when the Italian ref chewed out the 4th official at the World Cup for disturbing him with the weather forecast.

I though the only decision ever made from above was for some little fat Argentine bloke, who received guidance from above to put the ball in the net with his hand, while playing England in the 1986 World Cup.
