Final 3 games 3 wins with none conceded, surely Raglan will be offered a contract? First season back at this level for a long while, finishing 4 points outside the playoffs, multiple cup runs, 2 victories over the scummers; it's not been a bad old season eh?!

Good result that, nice 60/1 bet. Can only thank their keeper and Kane hemmings for their efforts at the end. Josh ruffles gets better by the game. Nelson and raglan a much better and strong pairing. Nice end to a very decent season . How much did you lump on, Β£100? π

Yes indeed seems since he did his ACL at Bristol City...he hasn't had a season completely injury free...most footballers will get injured at some stage during the season and miss the odd game, but two or more a season..... a sign of an underlying problem. Two completely different injuries of entirely different mechanisms and aetiologies is actually an sign of an underlying...nothing at all. " The recovery from ACL reconstruction is slow and often compounded by weakened muscle and ligament masses in areas not connected to the knee, for example and particularly the groin and hamstring, especially if donor tissue is taken as it often is, from one of these areas. Whilst the AL will often recover to a state stronger and more resilient than before the injury the Athlete, particularly track athletes and jumpers will often suffer from repetitive injury in these areas of a varying degree of severity. Special attention should be given therefore to strengthening thee core areas as Athletes will often concentrate on the ACL and these will be neglected. "

What a strange performance. 2 good goals, a lot of nothing football from both sides and a comfortable win. The Ref wasn't awful, but if he had dealt with Riley's naughty charge on Skarz early doors, the game may not have been so tetchy. It was ironic that Riley then got done by Mags and went off injured. Lovely goal by Nelson and Mags did well to mug off Riley for the 2nd.
If their 45 watched the ball, he'd be a better player. Was more interested in physical battles than playing for the team. Can't believe he is at Barnsley. Obvious why they are the bottom, a very samey team that lacks creativity in it. Glad we got of Junior Brown and Riley, it was like watching the team from a few years ago when they played.
All over a very good season that we can use a springboard for the next year...

Oh and had a good laugh at the Shrews fans singing "we all hate Swindon" too. Good on 'em! I thought I heard that too. Good on 'em indeed. They actually sang it twice. Once immediately after the East stand had finished singing and again when the Oxford players were doing their lap of honour/appreciation. It was a bit muffled by the Oxford fans clapping etc but they definitely sang it twice.

After Skarz and Ribeiro went off injured the average of our back four was 21.75 and they kept a clean sheet, good effort.
Average age of the eleven that finished the game 23.27. If Ledson had played that average would be even lower.
Huge credit to Appleton, great to see young players given a chance.

Great season overall, We were all asking where the goals were going to come from and to say we finished 7 goals worse off then last season is not to shabby. Pretty sure it's only Raglan,Skarz,Long,Carroll,Ribiero and Martin of the outfield players who have played who haven't scored this season and Skarz and Raglan the only one who got a run of games from that list.

Weird match. Generally pretty crappy apart from the minute and a half when the two goals were scored. I don't think I've ever seen a match where the away side played for time right from the kick off and continued doing it when 2 - 0 down!
More than acceptable season and now we wait to see if we will have the players to kick on even further next season.

What a season! I didn't think we would finish so high. So proud of our club I think we've really excelled this season.
The game today was very end of season, but who cares?
Maguire going? Well it looks like it will happen but I'll miss him. He's a true gent and deserved that send off today. I hope he continues his career in the same vein and achieved some great things.

A good first season back in League 1 finished 8 the a day out at Wembley scum relegated Orient into the national league, yep I would say a pretty great season.
Now I will wait for the anticipation of the the ITK's feeding us info of who is signing who is leaving and apart from Portugal and Oxford city FC who our other pre season games will be against.

Nice swipe at Swindon from Chris Williams in the official match report: "Oxford United's season ended with a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Shrewsbury Town this afternoon. Two quickfire goals in the first half from Curtis Nelson and Rob Hall eased the U's to a last-day win to see them end the season in eighth place* after an excellent first season back in League 1. *It IS possible to state where you finish in a match report, even if not everyone does so." Ouch.

You have to feel a little for Hemmings. There he is, last few minutes of the game, gets on as a sub, puts himself about a bit, plays himself through on goal and fluffs his chance, right in front of the east stand. He must be gutted! Story of his season, when it counted, he didn't deliver. I do have some sympathy as he has not really had the right set up for his preferred style but, you can't miss chances like that and expect to keep playing.

Got to say Nelsons goal was probably my favourite of the season.
Thought we coped well with the two injury set backs and put in a professional performance. The two goals finished the game and we went through the motions and got the result. Hopefully we do that more next season at home!
I think the season ending has come at a good time for hemmings. The finish at the end summed up his lack of confidence. A summer break will do him good and fingers crossed he hits the ground running.
