Have to say hats off to Rafa. I think a lot of people assumed he would walk at the end of last season, but he stuck with it and has seem them through to the PL at the first ask. Good job, sir.
(I'm sure he had a nice bonus written in if he did, too)

And to think Oxcelona gave them an absolute footballing lesson in January.

Always had loads of respect for Rafa. The press and plastic glory-hunters hate him because he has old-fashioned football values. Ask Liverpool and Newcastle fans and they'll say "he gets us". Look at his support for Hillsborough. It was interesting to see that Mapp was full of respect and said how surprised he was that Rafa remembered him from a brief media show they did a few years back.

I agree well done to him for sticking with them after relegation.
I reckon it will be up to Ashley whether he stays or not. If he invests significantly then Rafa will say. Newcastle need some high quality players but with benitez as manager and with some money behind him, Newcastle should be looking at half way next season simply not staying up.
I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves due to Ashley's next moves but I hope for their sake that is wrong.

His press conference was a little strange as when he was asked if he would be at Newcastle next season he said "We'll see". Not the time for that kind of comment for me.

I don't think Benitez is the problem.

His press conference was a little strange as when he was asked if he would be at Newcastle next season he said "We'll see". Not the time for that kind of comment for me. Probably Mr Ashley has already indicated that limited funds will be available next season. After all, promotion has been on the cards for ages. Rafa might not fancy a relegation struggle next season.
